Align your expectations and limitations
For small shrink tube it’s OK/bearable for a couple wires or in a pinch. Maybe for wiring small box or panel in an odd location or for production support on a few shrink tubes. It’s just not the high amp 110vac corded -any alternative. It has a place, though, just don’t think it’s going to replace anything corded or an panelshop or electrician’s daily drive. Great for car work, just hooking up a couple devices or that to-go tool bag. Pretty impressed, but just don’t expect too much. I’ll revisit the battery powered heat guns in 5 or so years and see how they come. They just haven’t evolved lile cordless soldering irons. Still, it’s a cool gadget and useful tool for someone who loves wires.

This is very handy!
This has been a lifesaver for me, because where I was creating my resin projects I was too far away to an electrical plug and had to carry each piece across the room, which resulted in spillage and shifted resin. Now I can charge it up and keep it handy on the table where I’m working. It’s pretty effective at bursting the bubbles, too. Now if I can just figure out how to keep it clean!

Good for small jobs and mobile repair
It is light, compact and easy to use. The heat output is not high enough to set solder connection butts quickly but it will get it done. If you have a lot to do I would recommend a higher power unit but this gets the job done for small repairs or on the go. The battery life is pretty good also.

Good but not great.
Good heat gun that it is portable but it took a long time to melt the solder in the solderless heat shrinhk tube. The plug in heat gun heats ans seals much faster.

Look elsewhere if using for wiring
I misplaced my normal heat gun so I decided to try this workpro unit. Pretty disappointing to be honest. It takes a long time to shrink heat-shrink tubing. If I leave the unit on for a few minutes to preheat it still takes 40-60+ seconds to shrink down the tubing to cover a solder joint. My normal heat gun does it in about 3-10 seconds. The temperature range listed in the ad copy is probably at the nozzle temperature. At working distance, the temperature drops precipitously. At the hottest setting I was seeing nozzle temperature at 400f (way below advertised hottest setting) at a working distance of about half an inch – I was seeing 120f (this was after letting the unit run for 4 minutes prior).I have some marine shrink tubing that is supposed to release the adhesive at 120c and since the workpro doesn’t get that hot (at working distance), I can’t use the marine (adhesive-lined) tubing for its intended purposes.I tried to use it to remove shipping labels from boxes and it takes about 20 seconds to heat up the adhesive enough to remove. It’s actually a little slower than a hair dryer in the same exact scenario.I purchased this unit in order to use in confined spaces to heat-shrink wiring in my car but it doesn’t work quickly enough. It’s easier to use a hair dryer, lighter, or my (for now) misplaced heat gun. Not worth the money, but at least it’s pink?

Quality
Charges fast and gets hot quick so watch your fingers lol. Worked perfectly for little jobs. I used it for vinyl decals on a truck
