Beautiful and sturdy!
The craftsmanship and care are top notch! Not only is it a beautiful piece with character, it functions very well! I’ve been shopping around and the plastic models never appealed to me, so this was a great find!Definitely well thought out and puts together easily. My only negative is the instructions need to be reformatted.

Missing and broken parts 💔
I really wanted to love this but mine came in broken and missing parts, hopefully this was just a one off but who knows

Not impressed
I have only had it one day but so far I am not impressed. It came without any instructions. I had to assemble it and it took a while to figure it out. If I figured the right way. I was hoping it would be better than the plastic ones but it is not. If anything it is worse. I do not get a smooth wind with it at all. Very disappointed. I tried to look up the website but I don’t think it is the right website for this particular product

What a Headache to Work With and Missing Crucial Part
Got this to avoid the noise the plastic ones make when winding at night. Had gotten it with the entire clamp with washer missing, but found a way to clamp it to the table with wood-making clamps. Have had so much trouble winding 5-weight, 4-weight and 3-weight, too. I tried a 6-weight at first, but the winder was not wanting to wind like the plastic one I have. It would start super nice, but it would end up getting all messed up. Noticed that the part where the winder drops into place would move down instead of staying up when it started to get all messed up. Tried many things to try and fix it, but nothing worked. Gave the winder so many chances with the 6, 5, 4, & 3 weight yarn until my patience was exhausted. Tried different tensions and speeds, but it would never fail to get super messed up and unravel on its own or get tangled. The 5-weight winding had the same issues as the 6. The 3-weight ended up way too loose for a cake. The only kind of yarn this thing likes is 4 weight. (UPDATE: Seller was NEVER sent me the missing washer). I mainly use 4-weight up to 6-weight yarn for my projects. I will just have to use the plastic winder for the 5 & 6 as all wooden winders that I read reviews for have the same issue. Gave it 3 stars for the beauty, nearly silent performance, and how much the winder can do/hold. *Hope that this review is helpful to others.*
