Lightweight cheap plastic but I love the handle lock.
This rotary cutter is a great value. It comes with replacement blades which is very helpful! The size is nice in my hand and I feel I have good control over where I’m cutting. It cut beautifully through my fabric. I also use a lot of foam interfacing and it also cut through that with zero issues. It works well for every material I’ve tried so far. I absolutely love the lock ability of the rotary cutter. I usually use a different type of rotary handle and have to physically slide up a button to close the blade. I am definitely guilty of forgetting to do so. With this rotary cutter all you have to do is let go of the handle and it closes the blade, and then there is a second button to lock that handle. I love that safety feature. My only complaint is that the whole thing feels very lightweight plastic and not very heavy duty. It feels like it won’t last as long as some of the other cutters I’ve had for years and all I have to do is change blades. I feel like a little extra weight to the plastic and handle itself will help with control of cutting and it just plain feels less cheap.

I ordered this because I am short and every single pair of pants or leggings I’ve ever put on are too long for me. I learned years ago that I can cut the bottoms of yoga pants and no one can tell the difference between them being cut or hemmed and they don’t fray like jeans would. For years, I used fabric scissors which did the job most of the time, but sometimes they were a bit uneven or a piece of fabric would get stuck or bunched up somewhere and the cut wouldn’t look so straight. I came across this and ordered it immediately! The day this arrived, I bought a new pair of yoga pants that I needed to shorten and this worked SO perfectly! I used a cardboard box behind the clothes so I could apply pressure without cutting into a table or the floor and it worked out perfectly! This was so easy to use and was so sharp that it cut right through 4 layers of material easily. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who needs to cut clothes, cloth, or even cardboard. I also really love that it comes with extra blades so that it will last me a long time. Definitely worth buying!
