This lives in my kitchen “junk” drawer for all those “oh no!” moments. When my son’s uniform pants split right before school, this had them fixed in 2 minutes. It’s so much faster and stronger than hand-sewing.

Unreliable machine that broke with first use
I purchased this machine for my daughter’s sewing project in ASU’s Fashion Design A. My daughter is a novice and is quite accident-prone. After reading the reviews, I was hopeful that this machine would be easy for her to use and would help me avoid the cost of a large sewing machine. When it arrived, I was skeptical of the quality. The plastic was thin, and it felt quite light. Nevertheless, we got to work on the project. We read all instructions carefully, followed set up rules, sewed the “sample” piece of fabric, and set our thread. That’s where the trouble began. Immediately, the thread kept tearing, breaking, and pulling through the cotton fabric. My daughter became frustrated, so I swapped out the bobbin with an industrial thread I use for hand quilting. The thread didn’t break, but the machine still refused to sew for lengths longer than two inches. It would stutter, pull, and stop. Then, it tangled. After an hour of sewing, we only got one side of the throw pillow done. That’s when the machine jammed completely and stopped working altogether. Back into the box it went and was returned. We had to hand stitch and embroider the entire project. Overall, this is a low quality item that is completely unreliable. It cannot stitch well, and cannot even put together two thin pieces of cotton. If you want a sewing machine, just spend the money. Otherwise, research old school stitching.
