Sturdy, fast, reliable
This machine was my first step into CNC machining, and it met all the expectations that I had for a little mill like that. Before this I only had experience in manual milling.Software that came with it requires some learning, but there is a manual in the box that walks you through it. You will need to learn how to use CAM software for custom cuts and there are tons of free ones.As for the machine, the spindle is enough to cut aluminum, the frame is sturdy enough for that. The spindle is set to a certain rpm, which I wasn’t able to change. Don’t expect much depth on it, but I’ve tested up to 1 mm and machine did fine, the single flute endmill did not vibrate. I recommend around 0.35 mm and 0.5, and if you want to go even further I suggest buying linear rails, which are easily added to this machine.I tried feed rate speeds of 1200 mm/min, but it’s quite fast to even notice anything going wrong, so about 700 is good for wood and acrylic, while aluminum is 200-300.This machine is not as big as I expected and fit well onto the workbench in my garage, it has an emergency stop button in case things go wrong and a home button for ease of operation.Now for the bad part, the only thing I noticed was that the spindle mount rod, that acts as a guide for Z axis was loose and might be causing vibration. But that was the only problem I noticed. I am trying to figure out, if I can tighten it with something.Overall, the machine is perfect for my needs and met the expectations. I believe it is a good step for someone that’s only beginning to learn CNC milling and for this sweet price it’s amazingly well built.

Good Quality Machine for the Money – Working on Windows 10 With Latest Candle Open-source Software
If you are having trouble, try getting help from the seller. I have some background with CNC, so I have an advantage. Two points you should know to get this working. Firstly, you need to download the latest version of the Candle software. Just do a search and get it from Sourceforge dot net. It’s a free download. The version they supplied with the machine was a year old and it didn’t work. The latest version probably works with Win 11 too, but I didn’t try it. It may be available for Mac and Linux too – but I don’t know. Secondly, you need to “home” the machine before the jog buttons will work from within the software. Make sure everything is wired up first though. Thirdly, the com port that it shows in the operating video was different on mine. Also, there is no Chinese language software to deal with like it shows in the video. Take your time and everything will be fine. I’m quite impressed so far and looking forward to putting the machine to good use.

A great intermediate CNC machine
I have been looking to get into CNC work to augment my woodworking and even thought about building my own machine. For the cost, this @WolfPawn CNC machine can’t be beat. Assembly took about 30 minutes with the most difficult part being the installation of the controller to the frame. Once assembled, I was able to get their demo file loaded and carved in the provided material using the onboard controller software. I followed the directions which were surprisingly easy to understand. I setup the z-axis without the sensor to see how accurately it would cut. Overall, the sample file ran great and the result was an 8 out of 10. I have an older laptop that I will use to control the CNC machine and have to install the software and drivers. The primary use will be for custom inlay work and cutting out of letters to customize some of the products I build. I’m not concerned about the size for now. The machine runs fairly quitely and didn’t notice any overheating. Operation is smooth as the spindle runs through it’s programming. Once I have the interface to the computer setup I will try and update this review. But for now, I’m very happy with this machine and I’m glad I decided not to build my own. A great piece of equipment that I believe should provide me with years of service until I outgrow it’s capacity.

Let your creativity run wild
This is a nice little CNC routing setup. It’s a good place to get started. Does a nice job. Little bit of a learning curve on software but after you’re through with that the sky’s the limit. Good value for the money spent. Stable good design built with quality materials.
