Smooth and seamless yarn cake creation.
I have had a few different ball winders. This one I was hoping would be an improvement, and I am happy to say it is.1. Putting it together is easy, the instructions are clear and simple.2. It works well. When the tension of the swift/hank of yarn is off, the winder stops, which prevents the yarn from being damaged.3. You can adjust the speed of the winder.4. The guide and guide arm are adjustable and the instruction manual shows ideal heights for the yarn to be at to keep your yarn from being damaged and the tension even.I quickly and easily wound several yarns into cakes. They were different fibers and weights. Every single cake turned out perfectly.I recommend this winder for it’s easy of used and consistent quality of yarn cakes made with variety of fiber and weights.

worth the investment!! Seriously. It’s noisy but it’s a machine. I wouldn’t say that it’s much louder than an electric toothbrush or razor. It doesn’t go super fast but it goes a good speed. It will stop if there’s a jam, which while a few can be annoying; I think it’s an awesome feature because I don’t want knots and chunks in my yarn, so you?? The jams are easily fixed. Go slow at first. Have some of your yarn unwound a bit so it can build a good starter. The only thing I am not fond of is that it is not as tight of a wind as I’d like. So it’s a delicate little flower and can’t reach hulk mode. However, it’s so much better than what I was getting in general with winds on cheaper machines, easily put together and taken apart, and it doesn’t make me cry haha. You should sit with your yarn if you suspect it might have some knots because you do need to manually reset the machine to fix that. No biggie. Just wind next to you when you’re doing a project. That said, yes. Get this if you’re looking for an investment winder.

Makes great yarn cakes!
Winds yarn into “cakes”. I bought this because I was struggling to find the “inside pull” on many skeins of yarn and when I finally found it, I had pulled out half of the inside of the skein. I don’t use it with every skein of yarn I buy, only the problem skeins. Works great! Easy to use and does not tangle when using it. It does make noise but isn’t excessive. The cakes have both an “inner” pull or you can work from the end of the cake. Best used with skeins about 6 ounces or less… otherwise the cake becomes bigger than the base of the machine and starts winding around the machine’s base. Or… if using a larger skein of yarn, stop the winder before the skein gets that big and start another cake. The cakes are perfectly formed. Not too loose or too tight. I took off a star because it couldn’t accomodate a whole 8 ounce skein but overall, I’m very pleased and would recommend this yarn winder!

Amazing yarn winder!
If you are thinking of buying an electric yarn winder, buy this one! It has honestly made a difference in my crochet/knitting hobby process. I am able to make perfect yarn cakes everytime making it so much easier and faster for me to crochet and knit on my knitting machine. It may stop here and there, but then you just stop straighten your yarn and keep going. You should always start at the slower speed to make sure your yarn is threaded correctly, then gradually start speeding up as you go. It is worth the price. I’ve only had it for a few months but, it looks like its reliable.
