Winsor & Newton Artists’ Acrylic is our finest quality acrylic range and represents a breakthrough in acrylic color technology. After extensive research and development, we are proud to present the brightest ever range of Artists’ Acrylic. By combining our color making experience with the latest developments in resin technology we have taken ‘brilliance’ to a new level. And that’s not all. Not only are our colors brilliant when wet but they remain as bright when dry – so what you see is what you get. Working with artists around the world confirmed that above all else, acrylic artists want the brightest, most vivid colors that do not change as they dry. Our new range represents a significant breakthrough in achieving this and much more. Only the purest pigments are used in Artists’ Acrylics, formulated individually to ensure the cleanest, brightest and strongest colors to give a wider choice and better color-mixing capabilities. Each individual formulation uses the maximum amount of pigment possible – without extenders – to produce a brilliant color with the broadest handling properties. Cost effective and high quality set of acrylic paints
I really appreciated the color selection available in this set. The value is there based on the color selection that is included. You can mix most colors from this. I did go ahead and supplement with 7 more colors to get my full palette (perylene green, sap green, payne’s gray, cad yellow medium, burnt sienna, burnt umber, cobalt blue).

Very high quality paint
Good value and introduction to the W&N professional paints. Warning: will lead one to spend more on paint later, as it is a joy to work with.

Great quality and resonable price
This is the first set of professional quality acrylic paints I’ve owned and I am so happy with them. I can’t believe the difference between these and the less expensive brands. The colors are very creamy and mix well. There are only twelve tubes but it’s a good base to start with that one could add to as needed. It also forces me to mix my own colors. I noticed that I use a lot of white to tone down the pigment of the other colors so you may want to take that into account and order extra white paint. I’ve read that white gesso can also be used but haven’t tried that yet.

The Gallegria line a better bargain
For the price, I would stick with the Galleria line. The colors are rich and vibrant but the lighter hues, when applied in fine old school painting require coat upon coat for the colors to speak. These colors are certain to please for the modern style where paint is often applied thick. Of course, you need to observe their properties , first hand, to determine if they are for you.

I waited a little while to leave a review, because I wanted to get a good feel for the paints first, but I think they’re definitely worth the money. There is really good pigment in most of the paints, it does dry extremely quickly so a wet-palette is a life-saver, the texture is nice and they’re not too stiff or too water-y, and they’re very easy to use in my experience, even with a cheap brush. I would recommend still adding an extra layer of gesso to whatever your painting on, and probably an underpainting of raw sienna just because some of the paints can be a little transparent and it can be quite hard to cover a stark white canvas without doing a whole bunch of layers. The paintings I’ve attached are all paintings I’ve done with these paints + a different tube of raw sienna by another company, and they’ve responded to varnishing well.I think the tubes stretch pretty far, but my biggest painting is smaller than A4, so if you’re looking to do a massive piece of work for school or something, I probably wouldn’t recommend these because they won’t stretch that far.

I took up art again as a hobby after a break of several years. These paints are well worth the investment – OK, they may be slightly more expensive than some other brands, however, considering the time you invest in your hobby then you reap the benefit many times over in terms of quality and pleasure in the final outcome.I was a little unsure of the 20ml size at first, however they go much further than I expected – the only exception is the 20ml white, however this is perfectly reasonable as it constantly gets used for colour mixing, so I independently purchased a 250ml bottle.Brushes clean up well.Overall very pleased, and would certainly recommend for beginners or occasional users.
