secondly, check whether the elasticity of the thread is appropriate, the recommended tension for home use is between 5-4.

Nice for dirty heavy work you’d likely get in trouble for using the wife’s sewing machine on.
Outstanding price especially considering all the components you get besides the machine. It’s well designed and quite rugid. I’ve used it to repair a canvas like covered shed that had several rips due to its age and withstanding the elements here in New England. These sheds are not cheap, so making them last as long as possible is definately a necessity. The detachable sewing table and enlarged opening around the needle allow for a good sized piece of fabric to be worked on while I’d found other machines lacking. The price makes using it for outdoor items that can be dirty less worrisome. My next trial for this little machine will be sewing a piece of previously used billboard material to replace a shed cover that is so tattered I’d otherwise have to discard it. The heavier material, strong nylon thread, and strength of this machine will allow me to get many more years out of my sheds.
