A bit disappointed
While this is a comprehensive set, I’m a little disappointed. The cutting mat and large acrylic ruler are in metric measurements only, but the product description mentions the size in inches. I suppose if I would have blown up the photos of those tools to a very large size I might have noticed this. Why even mention inches though? The self healing cutting mat doesn’t show cuts after using.The rotary tool feels pretty cheap, definitely not like that one high end company. The blades do cut fine though. The big scissors are heavy, but not overly impressed with them. The thread snippers cross blad in a strange way, feel like the friction will dull them.The wrist pin cushion elastic is quite small. I have a small wrist (5.75 inches) and it feels uncomfortable snug on me.The tape measure and 6 inch ruler i like a lot, they’re both in inches. The tape measure is 10 feet long; I’ve never seen a sewing tape measure that long. I like the little clips.Overall, I don’t think I would purchase this kit for $39.99. I think there are other similar products out there that are a bit better quality and for a bit cheaper.

Great Beginners Kit
As an avid quilter, I cannot express enough how much I have enjoyed this fabric cutting kit! Truly comes with everything you need to get started. While I will say the quality of the items is on the lower end in my experience, for the price I believe this to be a great starting set for beginners. The scissors and rotary cutters are very sharp, and the cutting mats are fairly thick and so far durable. The mats are on the smaller size, so definitely best for smaller projects. Overall this is a good value and would make a great gift!

This rotary cutter kit has been so much fun. I am not a quilter and not much of a seamstress but I have been using all of the supplies for my homemade cards and other creative endeavours. The purple self-healing mat is fabulous. I have had one for over a decade and it has become brittle. This purple A3 mat comes with great markings so I can measure card-stock or fabric precisely. The gold handled scissors remind me of a pair my mother had – she was a seamstress and sharp scissors were a necessity. I often watched her begin to cut fabric and then the sharpness of the scissors would run through it like a hot knife through butter.I have never used a rotary cutter before but I am really enjoying this one. It has a number of different blades and they cut paper well. Another item I particularly like is the craft knife. It is sharp and great for cutting tiny details or for use in cutting curves, plus there are a number of extra blades included. To me this kit is worth it for these items alone – but then there also is a measuring tape, pins, clothes clips, a stiff folding mat, thread clippers (that work for many other things too), a wrist pin cushion and zippered bag. Although the quality isn’t top notch for every item, the self-healing mat has been on my craft desk since this package arrived. This is a great starter kit for quilting and sewing enthusiasts but it also has many pertinent items for crafters of all kinds.

This is a pretty good kit for making crafts, dolls, etc.Pros:1) scissors were nice and sharp2) the purple board was very durable (didn’t get marked/damaged by the rotary cutter)3) the pin cushion was very good (durable)4) the exacto knife was nice and sharp (cut cardboard very easily)Cons:1) the rotary cutter was disappointing. didn’t cut very well2) I think one exacto blade was missing (picture shows five, but I think we only got four)Pretty good.4/5
