PETG Prints Nicely from the Bambu AMS with the Generic PETG Profile
Many of us 3d printing folks are curious what 3rd party filaments work well in the popular Bambu ecosystem, and I can confirm, that the Soleyin PETG prints nicely with no changes to the PETG Generic profile.I printed a few small parts to test this roll out for the review, and found that the finish was very clean with no additional drying or modifications to the default profiles on my printer. I simply unwrapped the roll, plugged it into my Bambu’s AMS and clicked print. The roll is wrapped very neatly, and it unspools as expected in the AMS Feed unit. The color of this grey filament matches well to many applications, including the stock parts you might be printing for you Bambu Equipment. All around, a good quality roll of PETG filament at a reasonable per roll cost. Recommended.

Great, fast PETG filament
I did a number of calibrations on my Elegoo Centauri Carbon printer with this filament using Orca Slicer and here’s what I found works well:Base Profile: Generic PETGOverrides based on running the calibrations:* Bed Temp: 70C* Nozzle Temp: 245C* Flow Ratio: 0.95* Pressure Advance: 0.035* Max Volumetric Flow: 32mm^3/sAs you can see in the photo, the printer handled all the way up to 32mm^3/s without any extrusion problems. This is a fast filament. 32mm^3/s is the maximum advertised flow for the Elegoo Centauri Carbon, so this filament works really well with it. There’s only a little stringing with the CC’s default retraction settings in Orca. If you want zero stringing, you can decrease nozzle temp to 240C and max volumetric flow to 27mm^3/s.Be forewarned that the default temp for Generic PETG in Orca is 255. That’s simply too hot, making the filament flow too freely. Gravity pulls the filament out of the chamber at that temp. The product page says that the maximum printing temperature is 230C, but I don’t see any evidence that that is a hard limit. As I mentioned, I’m able to get little stringing at 245C and virtually no stringing at 240C. So long as you’re printing fast enough to need that level of flow, 240C is fine. If you have a slower printer, then 230C might be better. This filament sticks to the bed a little too well, I’m going to continue playing with bed temperature. It’s not a problem for big areas of filament, but picking up the purge line is sometimes challenging. The spool was wound well and the color is consistent. This is a great filament for those with fast printers like Centauri Carbon, all Bambu Lab models, Flashforge Adventurer 5M, Creality K1 and other CoreXY designs.

Color is lighter than picture
This was my first time using PETG and it went pretty well. My only problem was that the color is more like a steel blue which is a really gross color to me. I’ll still use it since I already bought it but I haven’t had any issues with Soleyin’s pla so far so I’ll keep ordering from this brand.

Surprisingly great filament — smooth prints, no stringing, and excellent value
This PETG filament really impressed me, especially considering the price point. The spool is neatly wound, and it feeds cleanly without snags or tension issues. Right away, I noticed how smoothly it printed—no stringing, no blobs, and no weird inconsistencies. The surface finish on my test prints came out surprisingly clean and uniform, with a nice sheen that looks better than some name-brand filaments I’ve used.Dimensional accuracy seems spot on; tolerances lined up perfectly on parts that require tight fits. The filament also handled high-speed printing without causing jams or under-extrusion, which isn’t always the case with budget PLA. No warping either, even on larger flat pieces.Overall, this filament offers excellent quality for the price, prints beautifully, and delivers results well above what I expected from a budget spool. I’d definitely buy it again.

Decent PETG, good price, would get it again.
I have had some mixed results with Soleyin’s PLA in the past, so I was curious how their PETG would perform. I am happy to say this has been a much better experience. After drying the filament for about 8 hours at 70°C, it printed very cleanly. The Benchy came out looking great, with only a couple of tiny hairs from stringing. Layer adhesion looks solid, details are sharp, and it did not give me any drama on the printer.I have also printed several desiccant containers for my filament storage boxes using this, and the results have been consistent. For the price, this is a surprisingly good PETG option. This has definitely earned a spot on my “buy again” list the next time I need more PETG.

Not any petg listed on the soleyin page, suspect this was old pseudo PETG filament house keeping
Try to look this product up, it doesn’t exist on the soleyin web page. I know because I went to look for the printing parameters to use on my A1 to use it for a support with an PLA airtag mount I was printing. This supposed PETG doesn’t exist, so it was a guessing game. What it appears to be after researching a bit, is it is a PLA blend of some sort, a pseudo PETG with a higher printing point and plate temp that other PLA’s but it sure as heck is not a PETG.Also, to use it as supports, don’t. It binds to the true PLA very unforgivingly.Anyhow, I’ll use it for trial printing, since I cannot know without time determine what it can or cannot be used with (as supports etc, nor learn what its actual properties are. What I can tell you is it flows pretty smooth, light stringing at PETG settings, but smooths well. Does not bond to the build plate, readily removable. I did dry it down to 7% thinking if it was PETG it would bubble at higher moisture. So the print quality was decent, but it also has weak self bonding, I was able to complete tear a model just releasing it from the build plate.I’ve only run a few prototypes with it so far, seems to not have feed issues using the AMS, but I did find it needs a chamfered edge to fit into the piton feeder. I do not get the impression it will clog running 230-260.Since this is likely a end of service short run product, I wouldn’t bother unless you can get it for under a dime a kilo.
