Great quality, small size is adorable!
I got this little kettlebell so my kid could work out with me, and we can focus on form instead of him trying to swing something too heavy. First, I have to say this 5lb kettlebell is adorable- it is a mini size. It is so small because it is made like a larger one- solid metal and then made with a heavy duty neoprene coating that also gives you a solid grip when you are holding the bottom and not the handle (for some exercises) and protects both the floor and the kettlebell. Everything about this is top quality, even though it is a lighter weight. I took a picture of it between a gatorade bottle and a 20lb kettlebell for reference, so you can see the size. Despite this, it is still comfortable to hold, with the handle being shaped well and still having enough space between the handle and the body of the kettlebell. Even small, the quality is great and made just like a larger weight.

Excellent form, grip size & texture, and weight distribution,
but not perfect with respect to finish of the cast iron. For a couple of decades I’ve had six pairs (each pair of increasing weight) of Dragon Door kettlebells –what may be the first and arguably the gold standard for North American kettlebells. A few years ago, a house sitter stole the smallest set–and given their small weight, I wasn’t all that motivated to replace them. At least not until a 5lb kettlebell became available via the Vine program. It actually looked better than the original Dragon Door in this size, being more like the larger sizes of Dragon Door (the two smallest DD sizes were done differently, with urethane coating and smooth handles). Having already another Mikolo item (their six pound medicine ball) with which I am extremely pleased, I ordered up this new kettlebell, and like their medicine ball, it has exceeded my expectations for it.Consistent with the product description, this kettlebell is of solid cast iron, with a neoprene coating over the bottom two thirds. The cast part should be taken literally, and like many kettlebells, the mold seams are evident. In some areas they are ground down (smoothed) quite well, in others the cast marks are not only visible but can be felt. One of these areas is near the internal edge of the grip, and while not painful, could cause blistering over sustained use. You could use a round file to smooth it, but doing so would cut through the finish. The other mold seam is on the bottom inside the neoprene and extends the width of the bottom. It is prominent and interferes with the kettlebell’s ability to sit perfectly flat. It can rest on its bottom, but does so at a tilt. This is no issue for swings and presses, but makes the ‘bell less stable when used as a riser.Despite these failings, I’m very pleased to add this kettlebell to my current stable, indeed, I like this one so much that I have ordered a second at full price (I prefer doing most exercises with one in each hand). Yes it is light weight, but not all lifting is purely for attaining maximal size and weight. It makes for an excellent warm up before heavier lifting, and it excels at rehabilitation where movement is as important as weight. Unlike most weight training equipment, this one can be blend into its surroundings, making storage uncomplicated. If they had just ground down those mold marks, I’d declare this a 5 star product. Perhaps they have on other units, but for now all I can go on is the single sample in front of me. If the one coming is better, I’ll report back.

Versatile Kettlebell
This kettlebell is built for durability and performance. The solid cast iron core wrapped in neoprene ensures long-lasting use while protecting floors and reducing noise. Its ergonomic wide handle offers a secure, non-slip grip—no chalk required—making it ideal for high-rep training. With multiple weight options (5, 10, 15 LB), it adapts to your strength progression, and the color coding makes selection quick and easy. The flat bottom design adds stability for upright storage and advanced floor exercises like renegade rows or pistol squats.Functionality-wise, it delivers full-body training results—from swings and squats to snatches and get-ups—helping build strength, conditioning, and balance.I do recommend this kettlebell for anyone serious about versatile, effective home or gym workouts.

Well made kettlebell
This 5 lb kettlebell is very well made with a nice even coating of neoprene to protect both your kettlebell and your flooring. The finish on mine is nice and smooth, yet is is still very easy to hang onto the handle. Using a luggage scale, the weight is accurate to within 0.1lb. The bright color make it easy to identify, and the coating is even and refined looking… except for an air bubble on the bottom. Since this kettlebell is rather small and relatively light, this bump prevents it from sitting flat on my floor, making it tip over easily. This is probably an artifact of the coating process, and ideally isn’t an issue with the larger weights. This is a great addition to my home gym regardless since I have a rack to store this on. The small size and weight is perfect for training your form before moving to larger weights.

Stores easily
The flat bottom makes it much easier to store the kettlebell. I love the handle for versatile use when lifting weights. The neoprene seems pretty sturdy so far and will help with wear and tear.

Kettleball For Lighter Rep Set Use
12/6/25 This review is for Mikolo Neoprene Coated Cast Iron Kettlebells 5-30LB Set, Solid Weight Set with Wide Grip Handle and Flat Bottom, Ideal for Full Body Strength Training at Home Gym. I have a couple of kettle balls and this 5lb. one is a nice addition for lighter weight, higher rep routines. The cast iron is finished well. The neoprene (not sure it’s neoprene, but it’s a thick silicone) covers the entirety of the bottom of it, which is brightly colored and clearly indicates the weight and protects it and whatever you set it on; however, you can see from my photo, it isn’t evenly applied to both sides of the handle, one is longer than the other. The handle is comfortable when in use. It is priced at $15.99, which seems like a comparable value to similar, single kettle balls of this size.
