The swift works well but feels a bit rickety, as the components are plastic and thin metal. This is NOT the sturdy wooden model at your LYS. Definitely want to guide your yarn as it comes off and over to the winder or it can get caught. The winder is absolutely straight forward, no surprises and does exactly what it’s intended to do. Mind you grab the center strand of your yarn as you remove it from the spindle or it might get lost. Overall, I’m pleased with this set particularly since I’ll be purchasing my knitting supplies online going forward.

Works well and does exactly was it says it does. And the little thing that holds itself to the tables, actually holds itself to the table. I mean idk what else you want me to say, other than if you have a knot ot will get stuck on the loopy thing so you’ll have to take it off the tension loop then put it back on but eh.

Get the job done. It’s not to big to take up so much space and I can easily store it. The durability it pretty good for the price, doesn’t matter what weight yarn I use.

Ich habe eine umfangreiche Handarbeit mit Malabrigo Sock angefangen. Die Wolle kommt in Strängen und schon beim ersten Strang hatte ich viel Mühe mit dem Wickeln von Hand: trotz aller Sorgfalt verhedderte sich das Garn und das Ergebnis kullerte dann beim Verarbeiten herum. Weitere 15 Stränge von Hand wickeln: Eher nicht.Also: eine Haspel und ein Wickler mussten her. Nicht so teuer, weil so eine Handarbeit eher Ausnahme als die Regel bei mir ist.Mein größtes Hemmnis: Wo verstaue ich das? Das Paket kam nach nur einem Tag an und mit ihm die Lösung: ein hübscher Karton, solide und praktisch, passt in jeden Schrank und alles bleibt an seinem Platz.Nächstes Problem: passen wirklich die 400 Meter Lauflänge auf die Spule? Ja, sie passen.Natürlich ist das Set nicht High End für den professionellen Gebrauch. Das Befestigen erforderte etwas Geschick, die Bedienung Gefühl, aber danach hielt es ohne Probleme durch und die ersten drei Stränge waren zu ordentlichen “Kuchen” gewickelt, die aus der Mitte abgewickelt werden können. Auch das von Hand gewickelte Knäuel war schnell neu aufgespult. Tip: in eine Schale legen und mit der freien Hand etwas “bremsen”.

I highly recommend watching a YouTube tutorial if you’re brand new at winding yarn into cakes. This contraption works perfectly though, and I’m so glad I made this purchase. It’s helped my ocd in organizing my yarn stash and I love how easy it is to set up & store for future uses.

Nice simple contraption for my needs. It holds to the table nicely with the clamp and is very smoothe to use. I was able to get 341yards (312metres) of a chunky yarn on it within minutes. Worth the purchase if you’re tired of having the yarn ball bounce around while you work too. Will be getting a lot of use out of this, I am sure!

Very happy with this yarn winder, it can get a bit messy and you have to unwind it, but 99% of the time, does a perfect job. It makes very neat cakes of yarn. Very easy to set up and use.
