Not for a beginner
This little machine is good for the price. It is not something that I would get for a beginner sewist. I am a seamstress and this is perfect for a quick hem while I am visiting family in another state. It is louder than my brother machine at home. The stitch will easily pull out if you don’t tie it off properly. The instructions are not very clear on threading the machine. The needle does not pull up very high making it difficult to get some material under it and very difficult to sew over seams.So, if you are looking for something easy to use for a beginner, this is not it. I do not suggest any handheld as a beginner. Get a smaller full size for a beginner to get to know how a sewing machine works before getting a small handheld.If you are wanting a small handheld for easy travel to do very simple stitches in thin material, this is perfect! It will add a quick hem to garments, it can make a seam on fabrics, and it can attach material to thin items. It does not perform miracles, but it will get the small jobs done.I added a picture of how it is threaded, and a picture of a hem that it did in a pair of linen pants.

Nice box crappy machine
Sorry road review that it’s a nice kit but the machine sucks it doesn’t work it’s the cheap $10 one as seen on TV they put it in the super nice box with all this nice stuff but the machine itself is a pile of crap do not buy this kit unless they put a better machine in it I could have bought all the stuff that’s in this other than the wood box of the dollar store for like 6 bucks other than the machine. I put batteries in the machine it doesn’t work and I even realize that they put a power cord in the box with it and it doesn’t work either with the machine what a pile of crap I hate leaving bad reviews but what a joke

Not worth the money
When I got this it’s absolute beautiful setup very antique looking on the outside the box was beautiful the inside everything that was there was beautiful until I decided to use the machine and it became a problem it doesn’t so properly it jams up real easily even after making all the adjustments that I need to it’s really difficult to operate the machine not worth the money

Phenomenal kit. Machine isn’t worth the effort.
I bought this set because it had everything and I really wanted to be able to sew small things now and then without committing to purchasing a whole sewing machine.I looked up the youtube videos etc for this model and ensured it was threaded correctly and everything, but honestly the machine is really not that practical, even for small tasks. This is just due to the shape and size of the machine, it does work as advertised.Even though I disliked the machine, I absolutely love the kit. It has everything you need. The box is really nice and the pieces (scissors, etc) are good enough quality that I use this kit constantly and in tandem with a machine I picked up thrifting. If I lost this kit I would honestly purchase another, but this has lasted me a good while now and has many years more life left in it.

got this handheld sewing machine for my grandma because she doesn’t have space for a full-size one, and she absolutely loved it.
