Good machine for a beginner just learning CNC
I’m very happy with this machine. It arrived well-packed and was not missing any parts. It came with a printed manual, 1GB SD card, USB drive with Candle software and a device driver, USB cable, ten 20 degree bits, emergency stop switch, limit switches and an offline controller. This was the best price for the basic CNC machine plus all of the accessories that I could find on Amazon. The seller followed up with a message containing a link to download the manual (the downloaded manual was exactly the same as the printed manual included in the box).The assembly instructions in the manual are a bit unclear in some steps. That’s not a problem because there are several good videos on YouTube that show you how to assemble this machine. These are generic machines, made by many different manufacturers and while some of the parts may differ very slightly, they’re all assembled in the same way. My only issue was that I couldn’t install the Z-axis limit switch because the screws provided are for attaching to threaded mounting plates, and the Z-axis switch is supposed to be screwed into the un-threaded plastic spindle housing. The exact placement of the limit switches is vague in the manual, but can be seen by zooming in on the photos on the Amazon product page.The USB drive contains all of the software needed to operate the machine. No need to download anything from the internet. Everything worked perfectly after I assembled the machine and configured the software. (The only configuration needed was to change the COM port in Candle).I’m amazed at the quality and precision of this machine relative to the price. I was able to create some very intricate carvings immediately using the free (trial) version of Easel software, which I configured for a Generic 3018 machine.Next, I’ll be ordering a variety of bits (end mill, ball-end and v) to try.

Hard software ( I use Edsel I downloaded from web) and the machine is not for wood .. I used for small word but not complete.Update: Still unable to get the machine to complete the job, but changing from one star to three stars because the efforts and the time the customer support did to help to fixed the issue.

Fried Control Board
I bought this little machine as a entry level machine to provide a review/product testing prior to a local homeschooling group purchasing a few for classes. Machine went together super easy with easy to follow instructions. After about 6 uses with light passes the control board started smoking and now unfortunately the machine no longer works.I bought the machine back in April 2024 but was unable to find the time to get it together and tested until October. Now I’m a little outside of the window for replacement or return. I’m not sure if the control board burning up is a localized incident or if others have encountered the same problem but as of now I can not recommend this product to the homeschooling group or to anyone else for that matter.In full transparency I have not reached out to Amazon or the seller for resolution due to being outside of any return or warranty window.

i given this 5 stars cause you get what you payed for. i wonted a small cnc for small parts. i got a big cnc but it is used for big items. this is not so bad. not very strong. but easy to upgrade. but if your new and wont to learn gcode and see if this is going to work for you with out paying 1000s then yea its a good cnc.i use this for making gears and small brackets nothing more. so i was not really trying to spend a lot.i upgraded the motor got new bitsconsmotor is only good besides for doing wood.the rod bearings or grindyit comes with 3 relay switchs you need 5. for safty. but can run off 3

Great little machine for beginners.
This is my second 3018. My first was a slightly different design and I could never get it dialed in. I decided to try this one which looked to have a simpler and more robust design. I primarily use it to machine dense foam for metal casting and it works wonderfully for this task. I believe if you go slow enough you could do wood as well. The only upgrade I have done so far besides new bits is adding an offline controller.Overall- this is a great entry level CNC to learn techniques and decide if this is a hobby for you. If you expect to be milling spaceship-tolerance parts out of titanium you are likely to be disappointed. Great little machine for what it is, and an inexpensive way to dip your toe into the CNC machining hobby.

Instructions are pretty close to useless and I received my package with a broken limit switch.Update: now the y axis motor only moves in one direction and the y limit switch has never functioned as intended.

El producto llegó en buen estado y opera perfectamente, es fácil de ensamblar y se conecta perfecto a la pc. El único detalle es que en las especificaciones indica que el motor gira a 10,000 rpm y al probarlo el motor no alcanza esas velocidades únicamente 1000 rpm

apenas me llego , al verificar las piezas creo se les olvido hacer las perforaciones para montar el motor a la placa A, las que se ven no corresponden a nada.

el router llego bien empacado y en buen estado, hay que limpiarlo y retirar rebabas antes de armarlo. El manual es bueno para el ensamble general pero no para la electrónica de los limit switchs, tiene capacidad para 6 pero solo incluyen 3.Instale el software de acuerdo a las instrucciones, conecte el router a la PC y encendió la luz roja,en la tablilla de control y ya que estableció conexión prendió una luz azul junto a la roja, energice la tablilla y no prendió ninguna luz.Active el “spindle” en la PC y enciende una luz en la tablilla, pero no gira ni hace ruido, aunque en la pantalla si se ve movimiento.Intente mover en los ejes “X” y “Y” y en la pantalla si se mueven pero en el router no hay ningún movimiento.Repetí la operación varias veces, incluso descargue el programa Candle 1.17 pero la situación es la misma.Conclusión no funciona, gaste en vano, creí que porque venia de AMAZON USA seria confiable pero no es asi.Otro producto chino de buena apariencia pero no funciona.
