New to crocheting, this is exactly what I needed
I picked up crocheting this year and learned the hard way that it’s important to block your work before building anything. I tried buying a smaller blocking plate but it ended up being too small. I didn’t want to purchase a larger one because they can get expensive and I really didn’t have a great place to store it. This popped up as an option and it was perfect for my needs. I was even able to block a tote bag I had already assembled and it was big enough and helped get a lot of the bumps out.It’s very lightweight and disassembles for storage (you can zip it back up in the plastic bag it comes in). If I don’t need all four pieces, I can use them all individually.Each board is labeled with a number so you can assemble them easily and still be able to use the grid lines. If you don’t assemble them in order then the grid lines won’t line up.

I need these!
These are extra thick foam mats that lock together to form a bigger mat. They will accommodate pins easily without poking through to the other side. The 1″ measurement grids printed on them are handy, and I like that they are on both sides so you don’t have to worry about aligning the correct side. The locking tabs go together tightly and don’t come apart until you’re ready for them to.They have a storage bag that’s similar to the clear vinyl zipper bags that bedding usually comes in. I wish this case was more substantial but it’s probably going to last long enough for me to come up with another solution.The modular design of these is nice because you only have to use as many of them as needed for the size of your project; however, four of these are not big enough to block a sweater, so I’ll have to get another set.

FANTASTIC aid for embroidery templates!!
I am currently working on an MFA in textile arts. My final project is embroidering onto material that I have woven of cashmere. I had been struggling with a way to keep the fabric in place to sketch my design onto the fabric in washable marker – and then I came across this. It’s perfect, and I just put a few pins in the corners. I love that it comes with a bag to keep them in when not in use, and it breaks down to a smaller size.

Great but need more to a package
These blocking mats are terrific. They are nice and thick, very sturdy. It is easy to insert blocking pins into the mats. The measurement lines are a great feature.The only downside is that four mats are nowhere near enough to block anything other than mittens or socks or a hat or maybe a baby sweater. If you make anything other than small accessories, you will need two or three of these sets to be able to block your garment. At the price listed, these are quite a bit more expensive than other sets.

La grandeur est correcte pour bloquer des carrés et ronds . Les lignes sont très utiles et j’aime qu’il y en ait sur les 2 côtés. Bonne épaisseur, les aiguilles tiennent bien sans traverser. Je bloque à la vapeur et le tapis ne se déforme pas.J’achèterai peut-etre un autre set plus tard pour de plus grands projets.
