worked well and fast for the project I was doing.
Gun is heavy duty, well made, it was nice to have the different settings for the project I was using it for working with the Epoxy, no bubbles and did not cause any waves as long as you hold it the right amount of inches away from the project. Very easy to work with.

… this thing gets super-hot!
I’ve used Black and Decker products for multiple years and I’m rarely disappointed. This came in right on time to have on hand just in case I needed it for some work I was doing on my truck; I needed to switch my fog lights and the housing from a chrome end cap to a plastic one. Turns out I didn’t really need it, but I did use this on another section to try and fix a panel gap somewhere. It worked well… for someone that’s had no prior experience with a heating gun. Man, careful, man… this thing gets super-hot!I read reviews on here prior and noticed where some people were having issues operating the switch (to choose their level of desired heating power); luckily, I didn’t have that problem, as the cover is made of flexible silicone or plastic. It worked as advertised. I even used it to dry a portion of my faux suede couch after cleaning it with a lightly wet rag (soap and bleach, etc). I did make sure to rotate the heat gun in a swirling fashion to avoid keeping it focused on one area for too long, as it did begin to incinerate said area (LOL!). The cord could be longer, though. I found that quite annoying at a certain point. The image displayed on Amazon is a bit deceiving… the switch cover is not there. But as long as it works, I guess that’s what matters the most.DO use the stand to allow it to cool down. DO NOT use your hand to test it (by directly touching it) to see if it’s cooled down. I checked out a few reviews on here, and one of them got a thumbs-up for helping me know to NOT touch that metal part. It get freakishly hot… it even smokes a little bit after you turn it off, depending on how long you’ve left it on. It melted right through the paint on my bumper end caps! =( Well, no one will be noticing that anytime soon. 5 Stars. (=Hope this helps you in making your purchase. Take care and have a great day! (=

Great heat gun—does the job.
Great heat-gun for the price—there weren’t any attachments, but I rarely use any anyway. I like the two speeds and simple operation.

Switch is stiff and does not turn on and off easily.
Works well as designed. The switch is covered by a protective cover that is fairly stiff. I am hoping it will free up over time, or I will cut it off.

You have to get this!
I purchased this after having used a lot of paint stripper to strip the paint off my old (1888) moulding in my house. The original paint was still on there and I had to do all the moulding for the house including door, window and baseboard. Also did a few doors as well.I have saved A LOT of money on paint stripper and this works as well or better with no harsh chemicals. I have used the heck out of this and it is still going strong. You will probably find other uses for it as well if you have one. With the old woodwork that I used it for, the old original oil based (full of lead) paint was on there, plus a couple newer layers. Once heated, the old layers bubbled up and were very easy to scrape off. Yes, it is a gooey mess, but it goes fairly quickly and gets about 90% of the old paint off. Then I come back and use some paint stripper to clean up any left over residue, and it works great!I will say, I have had limited experience with latex paint removal, and so far it seems to be a little more difficult to remove, but that could just be because it is newer paint.I was lucky and had most of the moulding removed and could strip it outdoors. There is of course an unpleasant odor that comes with heating up old paint, but being outdoors it wasn’t much of an issue. I did have to strip 2 pieces of moulding indoors because I couldn’t remove them from where they were installed. If you have to do that, I recommend having the windows open, because the smell is pretty bad. But barring that, you could definitely use this on woodwork without removing it.BTW, this old trim I used this on has some pretty fine detail on it and this worked well for that part as well. I used a flat metal putty knife to scrape the loosened paint and had very little damage to the wood underneath. There were a few spots I had to use wood putty on to repair after putty knife damage, but it was minimal. I wouldn’t use a plastic scraper anyway, because I’m pretty sure it would just melt. Getting the metal scraper hot as you work actually helps it to loosen the paint as you go.Overall, this seems to be a good product that has worked well for me for a good price.

GREAT BASIC HEATGUN
This is a no frills heathin. If you need hotter, get a different unit. I build wire circuits, using shrinkwrap and have other electronic/automotive needs, nothing industrial; this is working great!!

Great Heat Gun
Bought this B&D heat gun after reviewing a lot of Amazon products. This heat gun is strong and puts out lots of heat, has two settings. My first use was on 2” heat shrink tubing that went on a project constructing a natural fiber rope railing around my boat dock. Worked exactly as described and shrunk the rubber tubing with ease. Very pleased.

I recently picked up the BLACK+DECKER Heat Gun (HG1300), and it has been amazing for speeding up my car painting process. I used it for drying paint and it cut down the time I needed between multiple base coat layers—which was a total lifesaver for my DIY car build!Dual Temperature Settings for FlexibilityWith the dual temperature settings, I was able to easily adjust the heat for different layers of paint. The low setting worked perfectly for drying the first coat, while the high setting helped me speed up the drying on the final layers, without damaging the paint.Efficient & Easy to UseThe heat gun was super easy to handle and didn’t feel heavy during long sessions. It heated up quickly and provided consistent heat for an even drying process. It also helped reduce paint streaking and ensured I could move onto the next layer quickly, keeping my project on track. If you’re looking for a reliable heat gun for drying paint or any car DIY projects, this is a must-have tool. It really helped me save time and get professional-quality results. Would highly recommend it!

Muy buena, tiene dos niveles de temperatura y calienta muy bien, yo la utilizo para pegar cubre canto en la madera, se me hiso más práctico que con la plancha, solo hay que utilizar guantes para no quemarse.
