They are great tubes of water colors.
These are great watercolors. They come in tubes. Easy to use. Got them for my granddaughter who’s 9, and she loves them. Great price too. 100% satisfied.

    Cheap but decent watercolor paint.
I’m giving this 5 stars for the value.I’ve got some Daniel Smith paints.I’ve got some Beam watercolor paints. Is the Amazon Basics watercolors as good as those?Nope, but It’s as good as some of the Kuratake paints and as good as some of the Windsor Newton Cotman pan watercolors that I have.

    Good Paints For Beginners
Bought these as a beginner trying to teach myself watercoloring. I bought these to start with, originally was using an old crayola tray but wanted something more ‘professional.’ They have worked well for me, not sure how they hold up compared to more expensive paints but maybe someday I will know. Easy to paint with, a great variety of colors and unused portions that dry out are easy to rehydrate. I docked one star because a few of the plastic caps split which made it difficult to reseal the tube.

    Great value water color starter
Good varity of colors and worked well with my watercolor paper. Great value and easy to use. The case is not very durable but it holds all the smells in.

Comparatively Speaking: Not my choice in the price range
First of all, I bought this product with my money, this is not a free-for-review product. I just happened to collect all brands of watercolor paints out there, and this one is new. I am reviewing this as a consumer.I have opened and let the paints dry a bit for about two hours. They settled in quite well, though some paints dried relatively quicker than others. The pigments were weak and diluted generally, even the prussian blue was unexpectedly less pigmented than most paints I have tried in this price tier (ex., Phoenix, Reeves, Arteza, etc.). It’s definitely not “sheerness,” the pigments were just weak when I used them. The tubes were clearly labeled and I appreciate that they were of good size. But then again, they need to be SUPER undiluted if you want color. I appreciate that it did not smell like Artist’s Loft (from Michael’s) or Camlin (from India, I think); they are all in the same price range. If I had the same amount of money, I would rather go for MeiLiang, Pelikan, WA Portman, or King Art (tubes, not pans). Though, this was superior to paints like Coloré, Crafts4All, or HandMadeModern, as these three paints had strange consistency, the Amazon paints were pretty much like the Meeden brand or Himi (if you’re all familiar with them).I would also try Lukas Studio or Van Gogh (1/2 pans) if I wanted a compact set but with less colors. I would not recommend Daler Rowney (student-grade) or Jack Richeson Semi-Moist, since these weren’t any better than Crayola or Prang, considering the price point.I have tried a whole lot of watercolor stuff in this price range, and I would’t say MozArt blocks or GenCrafts tubes were any better. But there are definitely better options out there. Zen Art half pans or Marie’s tubes are a couple to choose from. I am no expert but I bought, swatched, and used them all in this price range because this range is where I am comfortable spending on paints without feeling guilty afterwards. I would rather splurge on good paper if I really just wanted to learn. Bottom line, this watercolor set will not allow you to learn the watercolor techniques you would see on Youtube tutorials. One will just get frustrated.

    Great value on watercolor paint.
Gorgeous colors. I’m a beginner with watercolors and didn’t want to spend a fortune. I’m not a professional, I’m only a hobby painter and just learning. I’ve appreciated having a paint set that’s easy to use.
