Great balls of wool
Winds well, but doesn’t have the most even lever pressure. Spools come out even and tight enough to hold their shape well. Only real complaint is it’s an odd shape and size to store when not in use

Does not do 16oz of yarn – but gets close
It works well but there are no instructions in the box. I had to go to the product page on Amazon to see the video on how to set it up. Very inconvenient. I bought this particular product because it said it went up to 16 oz. It does not. I had a Lion Brand Pound of Love that I wanted to put into a cake, it did not fit. I had to cut the yarn and make a second ball.Update – Adhafera reached out to me concerning my issues with the winder and I must say that they have amazing customer service. I changed my rating from a 3 to a 5 because of this. They were unable to correct the issues with not having the instructions and it not being able to wind 16 oz, but the fact that they reached out to try and work with me says a lot. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an awesome yarn winder, it just didn’t do the 16 oz yarn I had. It will easily do a Red Heart Super Saver yarn with no problems.

Great Value, Super-useful Product!
Works fantastically, just as I had hoped! I love that the base and mechanism is made of metal rather than plastic — it’s far more durable than many on the market. I’ve been able to wind some decently large skeins of heavy-weight yarn, and the winder has handled them well. Definitely a purchase worth the cost!

Prepare for an intense arm workout
I love this winder and it was a big upgrade from my smaller one that could barely fit 5oz. I have this item 4 stars because the base where you tighten to attach the winder had the color all peeled off. Was sad because I ordered the purple and now there is a spot missing. Also the guider that needs attaching for the yarn does not stay in place no matter how tight I make it and I constantly have to put it in bag in place with windingLastly the winding itself is very tough and no where near as smooth as my smaller one. It’s one hell of an arm workout and caused many back spasms.

Love and recommend
I love this ball winder, it is so much fun to use and allows me to make larger cakes than my previous winder did. It was super easy to assemble, and feels decently sturdy, if only the gears weren’t plastic. It works beautifully though and is mesmerizing to use, makes it feel a lot faster when winding 1 km of extra fine yarn into a cake. Takes more space to store though due to the extra long arm. Definitely recommend though!

I would not recommend this winder. Its a cheap deal if you dont need to wind much. But if you plan on using it more than once or twice look elsewhere. Worst part is the nut that is supposed to hold the bar on is always coming loose and so the bar moves around and interrupts the winding. Its terrible.

I definently recommend this ball winder
This thing is so awesome I can’t believe I have been living without one this whole time. It comes with instructions, it is so easy to use and set up. It works for a lot of yarn, I did over half of a brava 500 ball so that is over 1000 yards. It isn’t too heavy, it is the perfect size and it clamps to almost any table that isnt over 2 inches thick. The only problem is storing it, I’m afraid the arm will get bent, but that isn’t their fault. If you don’t have one, I would get this one! I did a lot of research before I bought, and this one had the best reviews that I seen for the price I was looking for.

Easy to use
I had to redo a crocheted sweater, and I dreaded unraveling it. But this made it very easy. I was able to save all the yarn, and I don’t have to worry about knots or tangles.
