Great for the price
This is a fantastic device for the price. At first, I struggled a bit with getting the clamp to work on my counter tops, but then I brought it to a smaller surface with a square edge and it held on just fine. The clams are part metal and part plastic so just be aware of how tightly you are twisting them. The winder itself worked perfectly fine and I had no problems with it. It was easy to use and figure out. Hook in the yarn and boom! All you have to do is operate the crank and (maybe) hold the yarn a bit taught.

Makes my life so much easier
I don’t like using retail skeins of yarn, because no matter how hard I try, I can’t keep them from getting tangled. Plus, I recently inherited a bunch of yarn, and some of it were partial skeins and long scraps, and I wanted to roll them into balls without destroying my already destroyed wrists in the process. Enter this yarn winder. I love it! Inexpensive, easy to use, does a beautiful job of winding the yarn into easy to use/store pucks. It’s nice and compact when I’m not using it, and it works so fast! I had all of my scrap yarn sorted in less than thirty minutes. I don’t know how it would do with heavier yarn, but it was great for the stuff I use.

Everything I didn’t know i needed
Didn’t realize how much it makes yarn crafting so much easier. Finding the center pull was always the difficult part of yarn, but now I just ball it up all like this and it is perfect. I also like the control that you get with having the crank instead of it being electronic. If you have a lot of room, be ready for an arm workout, but its definitely worth it for peace of mind.

Great Little Gadget
I have been wanting a yarn ball winder for awhile now. When you are a knitter or a crochet-er there are so many accessories and tools you could buy that might be somewhat unnecessary or a luxury. Having to wind a skein by hand is SO time consuming but when you are on a budget you do what works. This little ball winder is the perfect thing to wind your yarn in no time. The construction is a little thin lie the metal parts and the clamp. But I would say it’s comparable to other models you might find on here. There is always mixed reviews on ball winders even ones you find at your local craft store so I wanted to give this a try anyway. It sits sturdy on the table and the mechanism winds smoothly and easily. It takes a little practice but I have been able to wind up a whole skein so far into a perfect little cake. It also came with so many knitting markers which was unexpected but so useful as I am always loosing or misplacing them! Now I am stocked.

Works well, no complaints!
This product did exactly what I needed it to do, respin yarn from an old project that didn’t work out and the extra markers were helpful for new projects. I would recommend using a different pair of scissors, the ones that come with the pack work in a pinch and the blade cover is nice but they are not particularly sharp

Yarn ball
The quality for the price is so much better. I bought it for my sister and she absolutely loves it. Easy to use and make into the yarn balls. Functionality was easy. Only problem was the type of yarn got tangled but definitely worth it.

Amazing!!
So I was a little skeptical at first. I figured it out and now abscessed with it! The pink is a full skein of simply Caron and the sea blue color is HL I love this yarn. The I love this yarn was tricky because its so thick but I got the last few yards on carefully!! Very happy purchase!!

I’d never used one of these before, I used to wind by hand. What a difference this makes! It took a fraction of the time. The winder itself is made of pretty cheap plastic, and the clamp isn’t the best because it doesn’t stay attached no matter how tightly you attach it. I had to hold the clamp with one hand after the whole thing came apart a few times while winding. Overall though, I do find this to be really helpful and I can’t believe I waited so long to get one!

Whether you are unravelling an old project, bought wool in a skein or simply hate working from a ball this unit makes getting a neat cake of yarn really simple.I love this particular rainbow acrylic yarn but the 100g balls are woven so annoyingly I always end up in a tangle when working from the ball. Making it in to a cake of yarn (which is always easier to work from) is so quick and easy with this winder. Literally took less than 10 minutes to go from ball to cake – including untangling the inevitable snarl ups caused by the ball being wound oddly and removing a factory knot to replace it with a magic knot. The slot in the top of the spindle holds the yarn nice and securely and because it is mounted on an angle you do get a lovely even distribution of yarn and a smooth cake – there are some loopy bits towards the middle of the completed cake but I think that is more down to me speeding up and slowing down when cranking it – a nice even speed will give a neater result I am sure.Slid off the spindle surprisingly well – I half expected to have a bit of a struggle with it but no, it came straight off and holds its final shape well.A little noisy in use but nothing too aggravating.Comes with a really nice accessory kit that has two different types of stitch markers – I’m really looking forward to trying the curly ones.

Perfect yarn winder. So easy to use, attach to a table and start winding. Comes with lots of accessories that although are not necessary are a nice little bonus, especially snips and stitch markers. Excellent set and good value.

You can’t go wrong with this yarn winder. For the price, it’s surprisingly super sturdy, doesn’t jiggle at all, and has that little hook on the side to feed your yarn through. I wish there was an actual selection of colours, but otherwise this is very solid! It isn’t an electric yarn winder, so you will get quite the workout for it, but it’s amazing for the low price this costs you.

My wife’s recently decided to learn crotchet, so I picked this up for her to use. It needs some assembly when it arrives, but that was very straightforward and the set-up was easy. It attaches to her craft table perfectly and works exactly as described. It’s going to help her with her crotchet, but also to keep her yarn tidy and out of the way when she’s using the table for something else. For the price and what you get with it, this is definitely good value for money.
