expendable backpack
As a bagpack addict, I had numerous backpacks with pros and cons. Therefore I can easily review this backpack with the lessons I learnt from my previous experiences. The expandability is one of the best features of this bag. It looks slim and professional at 12L for daily use, but when I need to pack for a weekend trip a bulky lunch box, unzipping the expansion gusset instantly turns it into a 22L beast. At only 2.18 lbs it still feels light on my back.Water-repellent performance is top-notch. The 1800D Oxford fabric shrugs off rain like it’s nothing. I used to carry a plastic bag for my genuine leather backpack, which sometimes made me think ‘what I am doing’. I don’t need to worry whether this backpack would get wet or not.The pocket layout is well thought out. There are many smartly placed compartments that everything has its own home: quick-access front pocket for passport/wallet, dedicated 15.6” laptop sleeve with great padding, and a few internal organizers for cables, pens, notebooks. I can switch from work mode to travel mode in seconds and always find what I need instantly.Comfort is excellent too – the EVA back panel and thick straps make carrying heavy loads way easier, and the chest strap keeps everything stable when I’m rushing through the train station of ferry stops. The external USB-A + Type-C charging port is very convenient for keeping my phone topped up on the go. If I had one tiny suggestion for the next version: add a small mesh pocket inside (maybe on the side wall) for power banks – right now mine just rolls around loose at the bottom. Also, the plastic cover over the external port can sometimes fight with thicker USB-C cables; a bottom-facing open port would be even more foolproof.Honestly though, these are minor nitpicks on an otherwise fantastic bag. Build quality, features, and everyday practicality are all 10/10. It became my daily backpack out of my collections.

Collapses well, professional looking
I wanted a backpack for work that looks a bit less like a student backpack. This looks decently slick without being too formal. I don’t want to look like a CEO wannabee neither 🙂 It holds the shape well and doesn’t crumble like other bags, even when not stuffed from inside.I bought the largest travel size, and at first I was afraid that it could be too big. However, I was happy to see that it collapses very well to only 4 inches thick when there’s just a laptop in it. That’s perfect for going to work every day. When I use it on business trips and leisure travels, I can expand to more than double that to accomodate a couple day’s worth of clothing. The product photos look bigger than real life because they probably filled it up before taking pictures.Unlike normal backpacks which are narrow at the top and wide at the bottom, this is uniform from top to bottom, as shown in my comparison picture. I like it, but maybe that’s just a matter of taste. With heavy padding for laptop protection, it’s not light weight though, especially for the large size that I have. My other backpack is nearly a pound lighter. For wallking many hours with a backpack on my shoulders, such as hiking, I would buy something else. There are hiking specific backpacks that are less than half the weight.Quality wise, it’s very well made and have thoughtful touches such as breathable back, luggage handle strap and theft proof pocket. I wish the drink pockets are wider. They fit a coke can, but not my workout water bottle.

Nice professional backpack with room for my big laptop
I was looking for a travel backpack made for carrying a laptop. What I liked about this backpack is that by default, it is pretty thin and will easily fit under an airplane seat as your personal item. If you need more room, the size of the middle section expands quite a bit by opening a zipper that circles the middle. it looks pretty professional to me and the quality of the material and stitching seems good. There are many extra small pockets to hide small items, including in one of the straps. There is an extra strap to help secure the laptop in its pocket, which you absolutely should use. The section with the laptop pocket unzips all the way to the bottom of the backpack, meaning if you aren’t holding the back section when you open it, it may flop over and dump the contents of the pockets. I’ve seen other backpacks with similar layouts have a set of straps on either side to keep it from opening too wide (if you don’t want it to). This last point is why I can’t say this is a five-star design, but other than that, this is a pretty solid backpack I can use for travel or work.
