Decent Router Management, Latency Not Great, Easy Form Factor. The Best KiwiSim Product So Far!
⚠️ If you decide to get this, don’t start charging it until you’re ready for your 30 day activation period to start. The router auto-activates the data services, so once you turn the router on, you’re on Day 1 of your 30 day period.⚠️ All Kiwisim traffic routes through Europe. That means it’s definitely slower than LTE service that stays within the US, but also means that if you Google for a website you’ve not used before, you may end up on a .eu based site, rather than the site you’d typically get if you’re on a US network. Not a big deal, but just FYI.Overall, this is not bad device, but it has it’s quirks.KIWISIM LTE SERVICE➡️ Data Gets Routed Through EuropeAll your data gets tunneled to and from U.S.cell towers to KiwiSIM’s server hub in Europe (in Austria, I believe), and only then hits the public internet. This means even simple sms messages make a round trip across the Atlantic, causing latency that’s noticeably slower than LTE, which, I don’t know about you, but is painfully slow now anyway. So not perfect for anything like high def vid conferencing, but okay for email, web browsing, and even Youtube stuff, but it stutters on high def anything.THE DEVICE➡️ The device has 2 parts, both puck shaped: Modem and Battery.➜ The Modem itself is quite slim, only about as thick as an Oreo cookie, but wider.➜ The Battery is thicker, about as thick as a deck of cards.✅ The Modem and Powerbank stack nicely to create a self contained unit.➡️ The Modem has a USB-C port to supply power. When the cable is connected to power:➜ If the modem is seated on the Battery while power is connected, the Battery will charge.➜ If the modem is not seated on the Battery, it will still operate.⚠️ The Battery can only be charged through the Modem.THE SOFTWARE➡️ The App that’s referenced is only to top up, not to manage the modem settings.➡️ Wifi password is printed on the box, but you can probably just guess it.➡️ To access the router settings, to change the Wifi password, on any browser type 192.168.0.1 into a browser when connected to the router WIFI.➜ You’ll get a login screen that says LTE Router.➜ The Admin user and password needed for this screen are printed on the instructions.➜ Once logged in, you can change the wifi password, and you should.OTHER INFOI use a lot of Kiwisim products. Here’s some other info you might need to know.➡️ Customer Service is not great, but you’ll likely not need it with this router.➜ But if you do, Customer Service operates on Asia time and typically responds in 24 hour loops, often repeating questions or prompting you for the same details more than once (okay, over and over…. and over), so don’t expect quick resolutions, if any resolutions to be honest.BOTTOM LINEI actually like this product, it’s probably my fave Kiwisim product and I’ve tried a few. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty good and easy to use. I haven’t topped up, so I don’t know how hard that will be, but usually companies make it easy to give them money. No issues with compatibility.

Compact, Fast, and Reliable Mobile Internet
This mobile hotspot has been a great travel companion for keeping my devices connected. I really like the compact design; it’s lightweight and fits easily into a pocket or bag. The WiFi 6 support is a standout feature, providing a fast and stable connection even when I have my phone, laptop, and tablet all connected at once. The included 10GB data package was a nice bonus that allowed me to use it right out of the box. Setup was simple, and it consistently found a good 4G signal. A solid choice for anyone needing reliable internet on the go.

If the spot isn’t hot enough
This is a small, hockey-puck shaped device that acts as a hotspot. It works on the Verizon network and comes with 10GB of data for testing. I’ve used a different model from KiwiSIM before and this one is not much different. Setup was simple. You connect it to the magnetic dock thing which I’m guessing has the actual battery in it. You then connect the unit to power through the USB-C port. It powered on instantly and after about a couple of minutes of flashing, the hotspot was ready. The included manual gives you all of the default login info. I tried it with my phone, laptop, nintendo switch, and a smart tv to see if they could connect to the hotspot. It should easily be compatible with all of your devices. While it does roaming and picked Verizon’s network, the ping is crazy since the traffic is getting funneled through Austria. Speeds are acceptable if the goal is to use this for work or light streaming, but you won’t be doing anything serious on this. I struggled trying to stream things like watching a YouTube video for example, but light web browser or some text chatting was fine. It’s more than adequate for that. The unit has a decent weight to it with hard plastic being used for both the dock and the hotspot. The power button on top of the hotspot has a nice, satisfying click to it. It does seem okay on quality. Battery life is seems good enough if you need data on the go.I’d recommend this unit for certain applications, but the extremely-high ping makes it a non-starter depending on the use-case.

Good gift for people who travel
I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my sister. I think this will be great. It’s a portable pocket Wi-Fi and you don’t need a contract. No SIM card is required. I think it’ll help make her life a lot more convenient since she travels a lot and I love the small size because I think it will fit in her stocking it wasn’t too expensive. It seems like a good value for the money and I’ve heard good things about this product. It’s quality
