Fantastic Quality PETG for Functional Prints! 💯
I use PETG constantly for making all sorts of functional parts, and this SUNLU filament is consistently top-tier.I bought the red, and the color is incredibly vivid and rich. The print quality was great—I had solid performance across a good temperature range, excellent layer adhesion, and, critically, no nozzle clogging whatsoever. My functional parts came out strong and durable.I’m a heavy user and buy tons of this brand. Zero complaints. Highly recommended.

    Smooth Printing and Great Quality
I’ve been using SUNLU High Speed PETG on my Bambu Lab P1S, and it works really well with just a few minor parameter adjustments. The filament prints smoothly and consistently, with minimal stringing or warping. The shine and opaqueness are slightly different from Bambu’s White—less glossy and a bit more translucent—but it still looks great in finished prints. Overall, a reliable PETG that balances speed, quality, and ease of use.

Very surprised at the quality; highly recommend
I’ll start by saying I had extremely low expectations for this filament. I print exclusively in PETG, and lately, Bambu Lab PETG HF has been my go to option. It prints extremely well and isn’t hard to achieve great results. ELEGOO Rapid PETG is okay, but it’s nowhere near as good as Bambu Lab. I have just been using it as it is the cheaper option when bought in bulk. Then, I came across this High Speed PETG from SUNLU. I really like the matte look of Bambu Lab PETG HF, and it appeared SUNLU would be a closer match than ELEGOO, which is far too shiny for me. I bought the 2 pack in black. Ran a test print without drying and then after drying. There was a noticeable difference, but it wasn’t bad straight out of the packaging. All of that was on the profile for Bambu Lab PETG HF. When I changed it to the Generic PETG HF profile, things got even better. See photo.I’m now disappointed that I put in an order for four more spools of Bambu PETG HF just before buying this filament. Once I use that up, I will only use SUNLU High Speed PETG for black and white. The pricing for the other colors is a little too much still, and my one real gripe is that they do not have a light gray. That is the color I use the most. If SUNLU carried that and sold it in bulk, I probably wouldn’t have to rely on Bambu Lab for any more filament.

Great PETG, not great grey color.
The PETG prints well and fast, no stringing if dry. I use Sunlu petg often. The 4/5 is because although this is a good petg filament, the grey color is pretty awful. In thick areas, it’s kind of a waxy grey brown. In thin areas, more brown than grey and is more transparent than expected. You’ll see infill easily with < 4 perims.

Final Verdict: HARD PASS white petg
Sunlu’s White PETG is easily one of the worst PETG spools I’ve ever had the misfortune of loading. It behaves like the pigment was ground at a gravel quarry and then tossed into molten plastic as an afterthought. Here are the highlights of this disaster in filament form:• Ridiculously hard to melt properlyEvery other brand melts normally. This one?You basically have to run it at ABS temperatures (260–265°C) just to get it to stop printing like thick toothpaste.• Coarse pigment = toothy, serrated extrusionLines come out looking like someone dragged a serrated knife along the leading edge.Small circles print fine, because the filament only misbehaves on long, straight geometry, meaning the pigment turbulence is the real culprit.• Temperature-sensitive to the point of comedyAt 255°C it under-extrudes.At 265°C it finally melts……but then shows random glossy/matte discoloration based purely on geometry. The same shapes in the same areas create the same color shifts every time.• Flow tuning nightmareNormal PETG behaves around 95–100% flow. This spool?0.98 was under-extruding.1.02 caused ripples from over-spread on layer one.You basically have a window of about 1% where it behaves. That is NOT normal filament behavior.• Boogers — the silent killersRandom micro-snots appear at the most inconvenient moments, especially when the melt hasn’t completely heat-soaked.I lost multiple prints because of this nonsense.• Chalky, gummy purge linesCompared to Overture PETG, the purge string feels rough, gritty, and inconsistent.Even the purge line tells you this filament isn’t right.• Inconsistent surface finishThe first layer can look matte, glossy, rippled, or completely fine depending on:geometryspeedmomentary melt behaviorcosmic alignmentluckThis is NOT how PETG should behave.• Better brands exist for the same priceOverture, Polymaker, Elegoo, Prusament PETG. all of them melt consistently, produce stable lines, and don’t turn print tuning into a multi-hour spiritual journey.Unless you enjoy spending hours recalibrating:temperatureflowfirst-layer squishbed temppressure advancenozzle wipingfan curves…just don’t.Sunlu’s white PETG behaves NOTHING like their other colors and requires way too much tuning for mediocre results. This spool goes straight into the “never again” category.Save yourself the headache. Buy literally anything else.

    Good availability, cost, and quality
Good filament. Shipping and product packaging was good, and the product is good quality. The best part is availability and affordability. I try to buy filament from my printers OEM, but I frequently find that they’re out of the colors I want, while Sunlu has a awesome selection and the quality, cost, and availability of the product is typically great. Just FYI, Sunlu is a large/major filament manufacturer, and many of your OEM products are made by them.

    My go to PETG
This is my go to PETG – Not matte by any means, but less shiny than regular PETG. Prints well at super high speed as long as you crank up the nozzle temp. On my 5th roll with no failures.

Looks great when calibrated, but batch to batch consistency is not where i need it to be
Love this filament when it prints well, but the batching from order to order seems to be inconsistent. First batch a month or so ago printed great especially after drying. The second batch i just received is printing very inconsistently even with drying. I am having to go in and re-do my calibrations because it is not printing the same. The flow rate values changed enough that my top layers are very different.
