Great portable yarn keeper
This works wonderfully! It cooked with a strap so you can hang it off your wrist and a rubberized base so you can have this securely on a table. It keeps the yard from getting dirty and “escaping” from you. I crochet but this would be great for knitters too. It is lightweight and made well.

Love this thing for small projects and socks!
This thing is so cool. It doesn’t fall over (the big sully isn’t as stable probably because the base is too small. The base has a rubber “foot” where it says Yarnit. If you rotate the silicone cap on the bottom so this “foot” is pointing in the opposite direction of your chosen yarn hole on the side it really doesn’t fall over. I like it best for sock knitting where I’m not working from an oversized skein. It holds 1/2 a skein of Lion Yarn’s Ice Cream variegated yarn (not the big scoop) nicely and any sock yarn ball will fit perfectly. The base isn’t big enough to store much beyond stitch counters but that’s fine. The ball is able to spin freely inside and I have no issue with tangles. I use a big deep carved wooden root bowl on a plant stand for my larger skeins. Some reviewers reported that the container is “flimsy” but really this is because of the split in the lid that allows you to pass the thread up to feed out the top or the side. It bisects the round clamshell lid and you feel the flex when it’s open. The plastic itself is quite sturdy—at just about 1/8” thick—and it doesn’t feel delicate if the device is latched closed. I have no concerns of it breaking with routine use or minor falls.

This is great!
This is great!! I got tired of chasing my yarn. It stays where you put and works great. I am glad I ordered it. Thinking of ordering another one.

My wife loves this thing!
I got this for my wife for Christmas, and she loves it so much, she made me run to Hobby Lobby and get her a second one! She used to use Ziploc bags in a backpack to keep her yarn under control. Now, she has a Yarnit on each side of her, as she knits happily along. She said it keeps the yarn clean and untangled, and she didn’t even know she needed it, but doesn’t know how she did without it. She said “It’s fantastic if you are using two strands as one. I use two Yarnits for fair isle knitting. I’m not a gadget person, but I’d call this an essential tool. I use it every time I knit now, and it has made all the difference. The rubber on the bottom keeps it from slipping. You can also use the strap and wear it, although I haven’t done that yet. My only complaint is that because it’s hard plastic it doesn’t crush down to a smaller size like a ziploc would, but the benefits far outweigh that issue. Five stars.”***UPDATE!!!After 2 months, my wife said “I LOVE MY YARNITS!” She said since she got them, “my yarn doesn’t get tangled, it doesn’t get dirty, and I never need to rewind the ball. Essential for Fair Isle knitting – I use 2. Honestly, I will not knit without a Yarnit from here on out.” Again, my wife is an advanced, avid knitter who knits daily.

Better than the Snapware yarn tainer.
I have been trying to buy some more Snapware yarn-tainers, which have been discontinued, and decided to try one of these instead. I liked the portability of the Snapware containers, they have a carrying handle…but this product has one big advantage. If you are working on more than one project, you can open the Yarnit, take out your ball of yarn, and put another one in. With the yarn tainer, you threaded the end o your yarn through the hole in the lid, and couldn’t remove the ball of yarn without cutting it. So this is much handier, as I usually am working on several projects at once. It also works well for winding yarn, if the skeins are small enough to roll around freely inside the yarnit as you wind. I also like the compact shape. It is very stable, and will hold a fairly large ball of yarn. My ione complaint is the price, it seems a lot for a small plastic object. Otherwise I would buy several more.

Love It
I had my eye on this for awhile. Was worried because some reviews say it doesn’t hold a full skein of yarn. It holds 100 gram knitpicks worsted skein and is only about 3/4 full. I hand wound my ball. Maybe a redheart super saver might not fit, but I don’t forsee any size issues for my purposes. This really is so much nicer than the pull close bag I have been using. I have used an old nylon Halloween candy bag for years (my son is an adult). Long over due for an upgrade. This is a nice size, yarn pulls smoothly and attractive.

Great for any crocheter or knitter
I love this thing, when I want to go to a park or just crochet outside I don’t have to worry about my yarn falling and getting dirty or tangled in sticks when I have this handy- it keeps my yarn in one place and protects it. I even use it for when I’m crocheting on the couch because my cat will sometimes try to get to my yarn and this keeps it safe from him trying to unravel it while I’m working on projects

Great thing to use to keep your yarn from tangling when using multiple colors within a project. I put each yarn in its own holder. Works great! Would recommend!
