Thin and lightweight but very durable and resilient.
It came in a small pouch. The backpack so thin and lightweight that it fits back into the pouch when not being used. My 2 liter water bladder bag fits inside but I mostly use it for a shoe bag. I wear women’s size 9 and my husband wears size 13 men’s shoes. We can fit one pair of shoes in the bag, even his On Cloudmonster 2’s size 13 big shoes fit fine in the bag and it zips up. It is very thin and light, like almost paper thin, but extremely durable. We used it over the weekend at out favorite theme park to carry everything we needed. Having the bag itself be so lightweight really helped keep the overall weight down. We go open to close, 14 hours total each day. The bag held up to being stuffed in lockers and squeezed into booths. No rips or tears. It is incredible how it can be so thin and light and not fall apart like our rain ponchos did. I am really impressed with this bag! We used the pouch it came in to hold our phone charger and ear buds, so convenient! Being so resilient to folding makes it perfect for many uses which really adds to the value. It functions as a water bladder carrier, gym bag, and great for long hikes around the theme park.

A backpack whenever you need it.
Ok, for $5 this is a great value. 10+ years ago, a foldable backpack would have ran you $20-$40 because only a few brands were making them. I have one from a big company from years ago, and I have to say, the quality on this one feels much better. Many of the packable backpacks are drawstring based, but I really liked this had a zipper to secure things better. There is one side pocket and the bungee strings on the front, so kept very minimal. Now I haven’t put it through a pnw rainy fall hike yet, but that is my hope for this pack, that it can keep things dry while im outside. So we shall see.The main pocket is fairly spacious, definitely enough space for dayhike essentials for 1-2 people. And enough space to bring home a few cool rocks lol.The straps feel comfortable for a packable backpack; nothing fancy.Once I do a test hike, ill try and add to the review.

Big stitches and fabric edges left raw will drastically reduce the lifespan.
I thought the $5 price was some introductory deal, but I see that’s probably about what this is worth. No effort has been made to make this a long lasting item. The stitches used to hold it together are medium-long and there’s nothing done to prevent the edges of the nylon from fraying and pulling out. I’ve had one pack with this construction and it lasted a few weeks before there were holes in the seams. Now I always check. Even where the straps are attached, there’s no extra sewing. There is a seam tacking the cord loops in place to make it look like there might be, but this is only on one side. Just running a serger along these edges would help it last twice (or more!) as long.Water resistant? A little. Water pools on the fabric and seeps in slowly. Anything hitting at speed like rain is going through. There’s no waterproofing on the seams, but that would be something else that would strengthen them as they need, and this is built to fall apart. At least the fabric is a pretty alright ripstock. It’ll last long after the seams have gone. But it is lightweight. I get 77.0g on my scale, including the sack, which is lighter than my lightest running vest, but that has better construction so it won’t let me down in the woods.I wanted this to throw in my backpack for short excursions. Keep it under a few miles and not on a hot day where lots of water (therefore weight) is needed, and it’ll be fine to toss in a little water, food, a light coat. That happens sometimes. Anything calling for more than 5 pounds will want something else.Note that the straps are only 1.5 inches wide, so that’s another thing reducing the weight this can carry because it quickly becomes uncomfortable. And all that weight is on those few stitches at the top!If you do find yourself with this pack, do yourself a favor and restring the cord so the cord lock is at the top instead of the nonsense way it comes. There’s only a loose knot holding it, so this is easy to do. And do whatever you can to reinforce the seams! Especially around the straps!

    Ultralight, not for heavy items
This daypack should be considered ultralight. It is made of the same “ripstop nylon” fabric as the pouch it comes in. There is no rigidity to the bag. It is perfect for a water bottle, a few snacks, and a booboo kit to take on a hike. Don’t expect to pack anything that weights even a few pounds. The orange is very bright and easy to spot, whether packed in your full backpack, or to be spotted easily while wearing it on the trail. The bungee cordage could be used to secure a hat or small towel, nothing too bulky though. All in all, a simple and light pack to have when you are typing on a hike and don’t need your full camping backpack.
