    Great product
I recently picked up the Fire-Maple Fixed Star 1 portable cooking stove, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s lightweight, compact, and comes with both an integrated igniter and a fuel regulator — making it incredibly easy to use right out of the box.One feature I really appreciated was the regulator knob, which allows you to fine-tune the flame. Whether you’re simmering or bringing water to a quick boil, the control you get with this stove makes outdoor cooking much more enjoyable.I’ll admit I was skeptical at first — the Fixed Star 1 is priced lower than some of the bigger-name brands, and buying a lesser-known product can be a bit of a gamble. But this turned out to be a true gem for the price. It’s well-built, efficient, and performs just as well as more expensive stoves I’ve used in the past.Another plus: I was able to detach the base and use it with a small cooking pan, which added even more versatility to my setup.Overall, if you’re looking for a reliable and affordable portable stove, the Fire-Maple Fixed Star 1 is definitely worth considering.

Excellent Compact Stove – Reliable, Versatile, and Leak-Free
I went into this purchase with managed expectations, especially since I passed on more expensive name brands like Jetboil. I’m glad I did. This stove has exceeded all my expectations in terms of fit, functionality, and compactness. The fuel canister fits neatly inside the pot with the stove, making it extremely portable and packable—perfect for quick access on the go.I tested it at home first (always a good idea), and it performed flawlessly. On a recent trip through rural Kansas, it came in clutch. I was able to boil water in about 2 minutes, letting me rehydrate homemade freeze-dried meals and brew a solid cup of coffee right at a rest stop. There was zero leakage, even after being jostled around in my pack. The stove quality feels solid and reliable—definitely not cheap or flimsy. This will be a staple for future camping and fishing trips. Highly versatile, incredibly functional, and totally worth the buy. If you’re on the fence, don’t let the brand name steer you away—this one delivers.

    Great little thing
Awesome little thing. As some other reviewers have mentioned I’ve come across a couple of issues. While its quality is great and it definitely beats Jetboil for value, there is the issue of the extra air hole in the lid and the gas canister attachment leak.As far as the lack of an air hole I just poked one in the lid. I don’t think it necessary though, as I don’t put the lid all the way on when using and can just take it off.As far as the gas issue… when screwing it on, it does let out a small amount of gas/liquid. We tested it anyway, and it fits and works perfectly. The leaking only happens for a tiny period of time as you screw it on. Admittedly it really jumpscared me (it’s loud and drips a drop or two) but I think this is a minor issue in the long run. My dad’s Jetboil leaks in the same way, but it leaks far less as you screw it on. I’ll consider it a normal thing. For the record, we were using the same canister for both this and the Jetboil. As far as the rest of it, like I said, quality is great, it all works really well, had my coffee water boiling in less than 3.5 minutes. The flame is louder and stronger than the Jetboil. It sounds more like a jet engine, lol. I 9/10 recommend it. It has been fantastic so far.

Great stove, but with one problem.
Just tested this out on a two-week camping trip, and it performed great! Normally, I make things like burgers, pasta, chili, etc with a larger stove and pots and pans, but since I was going to be gone for so long, I really needed to pack minimally. I found this stove, and after comparing to other similar products, I decided to go with this one. I’m so glad I did! It boils water quickly and efficiently, it’s so compact and lightweight, it’s easy to clean, and it’s so easy to set up and ignite that a dummy like me can do it. I boiled water, yes, but I also made things like ramen, boil-in-bag rice, and even re-heated my coffee once when I needed to tend to something else and it got cold. It’s just anodized aluminum, so as long as you’re using silicone tools to cook and aren’t scratching it, you’re good to go. I was thinking that maybe I’d be able to sautee up some onions and garlic to do chili at some point, but maybe I shouldn’t press my luck. Don’t think that’s its intended use.Anywho, why 4 stars instead of 5? Unless I’m doing something wrong, there’s what I perceive to be a design flaw that gets in the way of usability. There is a hole for pouring out the water so you don’t have to take the lid off. Brilliant, right? Well, not if there’s only one hole. You know how when you go out and get hot coffee, there’s the drinking hole, and another tiny one on the other side of the lid? Yeah, there’s a reason for that. That’s so the coffee flows smoothly and doesn’t splash around and burn you. When dealing with boiling water, this feels like a huge oversight to me, because the water does not flow smoothly or predicably. Not only that, but for some reason, when you get down to the .5 litre mark, the water stops pouring out completely, so I have to take the lid off (extremely carefully, because of course it’s boiled water) to get the rest of the water out. Don’t know if that’s just a defect of the one I got, or if others have experienced this problem. It’s not enough of a reason for me to return it, but it is quite nerve-wracking trying not to get burned by the steam while I attempt to get ALL the water out. I’ll probably just poke my own hole in it and see if that fixes the problem.Still recommend overall. It made cooking something I didn’t have to worry about!

Llevé esta estufa hasta el albergue Norte del Pico de Orizaba en México, aprox. 4500 msnm y días de 0°C, y funcionó perfectamente. Mucho más económica que la misma versión de marca famosa.

Great bit of kit, rolling boil under 2.5 min. Impressive, and the price is great for what you get. I would buy it again.

I’m glad I checked this before I took it camping. The valve came broken or something, and attaching the gas canister made it loudly release a bunch of gas cloud and white stuff. It got on me and my porch. Was too scared to touch the ignition. I had to detach the item right away. I tried it twice to make sure the valve was closed both times. Now I am not able to return it or get a refund at all. Money wasted. 🙁
