LOVE these mats! No more blocking on towels on the bed, or floor. They are extra thick, so the pins will not go through. Strong and durable, they fit together easily; the gridlines are perfect and well thought out, and there is no strong chemical smell to ruin your projects. Fits together easily and lines match well
I am new to knitting/ crocheting so can’t compare to past products. However, I was pleased with the quality of the mats — they appeared firm enough to resist any bending when laid on carpet, and felt thick enough to resist putting a bit of weight on the surface. The grid lines and circles matched up just right. Pieces were easy to assemble. One nice thing was that it was rigid enough for me to tip on it’s’ side and lean up against the wall when I needed it out of the way for a short time. I wouldn’t store it that way for long periods of time. The zippered bag it came in was well made and zips worked well. No odd smell, or any smell at all. All in all, a worthwhile purchase.

The Grids Do Align From Block to Block
I read reviews on blocking mats until my eyes crossed, they were good, bad, terrible, great and on and on. Then you come across the folks who are writing reviews on a product they have no idea how to use and you wonder why they bought it at all. So where do you start to make a logical choice? I made my selection to purchase based on price and alignment of grid reviews. I took the leap and I am glad I did. The mats and t-pins arrived quickly, packed in a very nice zippered storage bag. The blocks fit together very well and quite easily. The grids align as they should from block to block. The black grid lines did concern me because I was not sure they would not bleed off when a wet fiber was set upon them, but I did a test before I squared off a felted piece on them and they passed without bleeding issues. BUT to be sure I simply place a piece of clear plastic wrap down then my white felted piece. The grids were easily visible, the t-pins worked just fine and my felt was square. When I set a second dark color felted piece without the clear plastic wrap there was no bleeding issue. I used four connected blocks, they all aligned and stayed connected when I moved them to their drying location. Overall I am very pleased with these blocks, and for my purposes, which is blocking felted wool, they work perfectly and are thick enough to be a stable surface. Glad I bought them, and I am pleased all around.

Good Blocking Board but slightly smelly
This board fits together with numbered blocks and worked really well. Has a nice thick pad to push the pins into with nice lines and circles to use as gauges. The only draw back was the smell when they first arrived. They smelled strongly like new “rubber thongs”. I didn’t want to block my clean knitting on that and have it pick up that smell. I decided to let the squares air out in our garage for a week and after that they were quite tolerable. I blocked my project and it didn’t pick up any odor so overall I am quite happy with these. They break down easily and pack away in the zippered cloth case they came in. I deducted a star for the smell issue but really that does go away.

Fantastic blocking mats
I am gradually upgrading my knitting tools and bought two sets of these mats to replace the colorful foam kids’ play mats I’d been using for years. What a difference! They arrived just in time to block a large shawl and worked perfectly. The lines match up well even across sets, and they are thick and sturdy enough that when I had to move my blocked project to another room (yikes) everything held together well. The fabric case zips easily and makes storage easier than having a stack of loose mats. The seller included two boxes of T-pins and two glove blockers in each set – more than I will ever need but maybe I can donate some to another knitter. Not the cheapest blocking mats out there, but IMO they are worth it.

Exactly what I needed!
The mats are nice and thick and hold blocking pins very securely. They interlock and can be formed into any shape you like. If you are aiming for a 3’x3′ square, you can put them together following the sequence of numbers on every mat and get a square with grid lines that line up exactly. Very nice.There are two improvements that might make this product even better. One is numbering at least some of the grid lines to make it easier to use them to measure. The other is doing a better job of matching up grid lines from one set of mats to another. When I put two assembled 3’x3′ squares together the lines did not meet up exactly. (See photo.)Nevertheless, I still think this is an excellent product and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Perfect Blocking Mats
After looking at several online options, I decided to go with this brand because of the colored alignment lines and the thickness of the mats. The lines makes it easier to align and square up pieces. They do NOT smell, I have used cold water to block and none of the lines or color faded or transferred to the white yarn. They come in a zippered lightweight case, (think of the fabric of grocery bags), you must be gentle using the zipper around the corners, and it may not hold up if you pull on the handles, but it works for it’s designed use. The 100 T-pins were enough for 5 small cowls, and one medium shawl (yes all on the pad at the same time). The mats are not self-healing, so you will have holes in the pads, but nothing is left to snag the lightest of yarns. Lastly, I actually think these would work to put a puzzle together on, if you might need to move it as they stayed together quite nicely. Oh, I did buy these myself, the company added a note in the package asking for a review. I waited until I used them before I wrote this. I am very happy with my purchase.

Liked the light flexible carrying case that stores the blocking mats and pins. Each mat has a grid line that makes up a large full circle to aid the blocking of the knitted products. The pins are sturdy and of stainless steel. The product comes with two plastic containers that are reseal and hold the pins. This product is somewhat costly.

Set is easy to put together, with no gaps between the mats. The 1″ grid marks are pretty accurate – off by 1/16″ over 6 “. The Circular grid lines are extremely helpful. The thickness is 3/8” and the bottom of the mat is textured, so it doesn’t slip on a smooth surface. Comes in a fabric carry case, which seems well made. Delivery was fast.
