Great Quality and Price
Just received this bag a few days ago and already love it. I am using for a workout bag to take to the gym. The bag material is very durable. Zippers are thick and strong and should last a long time. There are multiple zipper pocket sections so that clean and dirty clothes/towels can be stored. Straps are rugged. You could also use the bag for its original purpose which is a book bag/laptop bag. It would be excellent for school supplies. Provides enough padding to protect your laptop and has a front pocket for keys, pens/pencils and other school supplies. I got it for a great price of $20.99, but just checked and it is now on sale for $19.99. Only downside for me, it only comes in black or I would have bought one for my daughter. Definitely recommend if you need a great book bag at a great price and don’t care about name brands.

The unabatingly impressive backpack that I didn’t even realize I wanted
I travel a lot for business and I used a laptop case to carry my files, receipts, laptop, chargers, etc. As an airline carry-on option, the laptop case was convenient because of its size, but it had one strap, and I was finding that my tendency to put it on my right shoulder over the years was causing my back to go a little out of whack, and switching sides constantly was not the solution I needed.This backpack was discounted a bit for Black Friday, and having seen the quality of AmazonBasics products before, I knew that $30 was a fair price and I expected a decent product based on the reviews. When it arrived, I was able to take everything from my laptop case – passport, flash drive, files, chargers and more – and transfer it into this backpack with ease. There are dedicated pockets that are intelligently sized (there is one small pocket that is flash-drive-shaped, which was amazing). And, because of the way it’s constructed, it’s smaller and lighter than my laptop case. From the beginning, I was impressed, but that was only the beginning.The backpack itself complies with my airline’s (and, let’s be reasonable, most airlines’) definition of a “personal item” rather than “carry-on luggage,” whereas my laptop case was too wide to be considered a personal item (though most airlines wouldn’t bug you, still, it’s always better to be able to point to the regulation and say you’re in the right!). This bag maximizes economy of space brilliantly, and fits under the seat in front of you on the plane, so no rummaging through the overhead compartments looking for your bag. I thought the bag couldn’t get any better, but it didn’t stop there.I was initially concerned about whether having a backpack rather than a laptop case would appear “unprofessional,” but as a traveling salesperson, it didn’t appear that anyone judged me for having a backpack rather than a case. The zippers are strong and large, so no cheap metal or plastic breaking on you as you try to open a zipper that got stuck on cloth. Everything is laid out very well. Having all my chargers, cables and files handy was useful during my presentations, when I was able to pull out hotspots, folders and other things with ease, and even keep my coins together for easy reach while paying tolls.I’m excited to use this backpack for personal 1-2 day trips also, because I can definitely fit a bit of clothing in the other pocket I didn’t use (there was so much space, I didn’t need to!) and be able to travel in a plane, train or automobile without having to worry about lugging around…well, luggage. The side compartment is perfect for the average bottle of water, for people that want to use this backpack in the outdoors or for long trips, and just about any laptop will fit inside the slit in the back.If the events of Amazon’s history as a company in the last two decades had only culminated in the design of this backpack, that would honestly be enough to justify its existence. Of course, I’m exaggerating, but this backpack is yet another example among the many reasons more and more of my purchases are being made through Amazon. Their reputation for quality and economy of design understates the achievements of this backpack, which sets standards beyond all those previously achieved by Amazon.Thank you again, Amazon, and I look forward to seeing what the next item is that you decide to improve in ways I didn’t even realize I wanted.

Great backpack that will last
Pros:- Good amount of pockets and location. The backpack has 3 large (1 for laptop), 1 medium, and 1 small pocket. The small pocket is placed between the laptop pocket and another large pocket, so when it is filled, the bakcpack does not bulge. Other backpacks often have the small pocket in the front, causing this issue to occur- Backpack seems durable and sturdy. My last backpack was the previous version of this Amazon Basics backpack, and it lasted me over 7 years of school. I switched to this one a year ago, and it seems to be just as sturdy and perhaps even a little more durable.- The laptop pocket is closest to your back when you wear it, and there is a good layer of padding between the laptop and your back. The padding is thick enough that you shouldn’t feel anything poking your back. Even without a laptop in your bag, the padding keeps you from experiencing any discomfort from the items in your bagCons:- The zippers for the backpack are covered by a bit of stiff fabric. This was most likely done for aesthetic reasons, but it makes it a bit harder to open and close the zippers. You end up grabbing the zippers at an angle, and it makes it more likely to get caught on the material inside the backpack. This issue gets better over time as the backpack material breaks in and becomes lesss stiff, but the issue does not fully go away- The water bottle pockets are a bit too small. I use a 24 oz contigo (3.35″ diameter), and it takes some difficulty to put it in the mesh side pocket. It seems like it was built for the thing plastic bottles- There is a strap that goes from the front of the backpack to the back. It gets in the way of the water bottle area, and makes it a bit harder to insert the water bottleAdditional Notes:- This is a large backpack. It will take up most of your back, so if you are walking around with a full bag on a hot day, it will get pretty uncomfortable from the heat and you will sweat a lot

8 Years Later
I was looking for a new backpack for work and this came up (I had previously bought it in 2017). It has been a wonderful backpack that I used on a nearly daily basis for work. It’s currently servicing my personal laptop now but I’m strongly considering buying a second one! It’s still in great condition and I’ve appreciated the overall look and fit of the backpack in addition to the durability of the bag over these past 8 years! I’m on the hunt for something new but may fall back to this one as it has been dependable and still has a great looking design.

I’m serious. I got this with a student discount when I started college, and it goes with me everywhere, with my entire life inside of it. The pockets are many, big, sturdy and legitimately functional. I think in the picture it showed entire binders fitting into the secondary pockets and I was skeptical about the physics of that, but somehow it works! It’s not a huge bag at all, but somehow everything but the kitchen sink fits inside of it. The bag itself is very lightweight as well, despite having so many different compartments and being really sturdy. You can tell because the zippers are so “zippy” –they feel very smooth and withstand a lot of abuse being tugged at from weird angles without much protest. It’s perfect because I can carry it around instead of a purse on light days, but then fill it with 3 binders, 2 text books, a laptop, a big journal, a million girl-things in the outter pocket, my wallet, my water bottle, my charging cords, my glasses, my lab-coat for bio, a sweater and my lunchbag. All with confidence that it won’t fall apart, damage my fragile goods, or hurt my back. Because the back is reinforced for the computer compartment inside, it really does wonders when I’m lugging all my college gear around campus. ANY college student will tell you how important that is!!! I’m really really glad I picked this bag over the other ones I had in mind. The main drawback for me going in was its small size, but after this semester, when I realize how much it expanded that turned out to be a bonus! 🙂

It’s surprisingly comfy on the shoulders, even when I cram it with all my junk, including my laptop, chargers, snacks (gotta have snacks), and a questionable amount of cables that I swear multiply overnight. The padding for the laptop is like a pillow fortress—keeps my laptop snug as a bug.Downsides? It’s called “Amazon Basics,” but there’s nothing *basic* about this backpack—it makes my life look way too organized. And yeah, if you’re someone who loses stuff easily, good luck remembering which pocket you put it in.Overall, it’s a solid buddy for your daily adventures. Just be ready to explain to friends why you’re taking 5 minutes to dig out your car keys from this black hole of storage. 10/10 would buy again (if mine doesn’t swallow me whole).

Bevor ich den Rucksack bestellt habe, habe ich mir natürlich diverse Bewertungen durchgelesen. Im Normalfall sind nur die negativen Kritiken interessant. Hier haben einige von Qualitätsmängeln gesprochen, dass die Riemen nicht gut verarbeitet sind oder auch abreißen. Das wäre für mich eine Katastrophe, denn ich transportiere mit dem Rucksack auch technischen Equipment: MacBook Pro, iPad, diverse Ladegeräte und USB-Kabel, USB-Stick, externe 2,5″ Festplatte, Kopfhörer aber auch Unterlagen, habe meistens eine 1L Getränkeflasche dabei.=== Qualität / Verarbeitung ===Beim Auspacken habe ich also erst einmal auf die Riemen geachtet und wie diese verarbeitet sind, hier konnte ich bisher nichts beanstanden. Beim Erstellen der Fotos für diese Rezension fiel mir allerdings ein Griff des Reißverschlusses auf. Das sieht aus als wäre es Dreck, jedoch kann man es nicht abkratzen. Ist wohl die Verarbeitung des Metalls. Sieht etwas unschön aus, mich persönlich stört es aber nicht weiter, andere Dinge sind mir bisher nicht aufgefallen.Ebenso sieht man an einer kleinen Stelle vorne an der Naht einen kurzen orangenen Faden. Vermutlich nicht sauber abgetrennt? Bisher macht er sonst aber keine Probleme.=== Fächer + kleinstes Fach ===Was sehr positiv ist und deswegen habe ich mich auch für diesen Rucksack entschieden, sind eben die vielen vor allem meiner Meinung nach durchdachten Fächer. Wie oben beschrieben hab ich immer viele Dinge dabei, da ist es total hilfreich diverse Fächer nutzen zu können. Für Kleinkram bietet der Rucksack im vordersten Fach unterschiedliche Aufteilungen und auch Stiftehalter, letzteres ist für höchstens für den Apple Pencil interessant, den ich aber in der Hülle mit dem iPad aufbewahre.=== Größtes Fach ===Im größten Fach hat man auch Unterteilungen in der mein 13,3″ sowie mein 10,2″ iPad, beide jeweils mit AmazonBasics Case perfekt untergebracht werden können. Zusätzlich verstau ich hier zum Beispiel auch die 1L Getränkeflasche (auch wenn es dafür außen an den Seiten Halter für gibt). Zudem hat man hier für genug Platz für weitere Sachen.=== Zweitgrößtes Fach ===Das zweitgrößte Fach nutze ich mit einer alten Laptop-Hülle und Bewerbungsmappe (harter Kunststoff) um DIN-A4 Unterlagen sicher zu verstauen. Ein drittes Fach ist bei mir ungenutzt. Auch hier könnte man noch was unterbringen, jedoch muss ich sagen, dass durch die intensive Nutzung der anderen Fächer dieses Fach dann doch etwas “eingeengt” wird. Etwas klumpiges kriegt man wohl nicht mehr vernünftig unter.=== Mini-Fach ===Relativ in der Mitte gibt es ein kleines Fach das mit nur einem Reißverschluss geöffnet wird, statt der sonstigen zwei. Das Fach ist nicht besonders groß aber gut um Kleinkram zu verstauen oder Dinge, die man schnell im Zugriff braucht ohne lange zu kramen. Bei mir ist dort eine kleine Anker LED-Taschenlampe verstaut und zusätzlich noch eine Packung Tempos und ein paar Brillenputztücher.=== Seiten-Clips ===An den Seiten findet man jeweils nochmal einen Riemen und Clips, ggf. um bei viel Inhalt das Ganze stabil zusammenzuhalten? Falls es noch einen anderen Nutzen hat komm ich nicht drauf. Evtl. könnte ich mir noch vorstellen, dass damit die Flaschen in den Seiten-Halterungen zu fixieren, andernfalls würden diese nämlich stören.=== Seiten-Halter ===Auf beiden Seiten wie erwähnt, gibt es nochmal Halter um Flaschen zu verstauen. 1 Liter Flaschen passen dort definitiv nicht rein. 0,33L sind definitiv kein Problem und ich vermute auch 0,5L passen noch so gerade.=== Fazit ===Ein erstes Fazit nach wenigen Wochen im Einsatz. Ich bin bisher nur positiv vom Rucksack überrascht. Jedes mal wenn man denkt man hat keinen Platz mehr und nachschaut. Doch hat man. Das Qualitätsproblem des einen Griffs: Ja mein Gott. Klar sollte es nicht sein, aber bei dem Preis kann ich mich nicht beschweren. Hätte ich es sofort gesehen (und ich dachte eigentlich ich hätte gründlich geschaut, aber genau darauf nicht geachtet), dann hätte ich ihn eventuell umgetauscht aber ich persönlich hab damit kein Problem.Wie oben genannt habe ich viele Sachen verstaut die ich immer dabei habe, Notebook, Tablet, sämtliche zugehörige Kabel und vieles mehr. Das sorgt dafür das ich nicht immer alles umpacken muss egal wo ich hinfahre. Ich sehe hier auch einen großen Vorteil wenn man in den Urlaub fährt. Egal ob man Wandern geht oder nur zur Ferienwohnung oder ins Hotel. Man hat alle seine Geräte dabei und kann somit auch nichts vergessen. Der einzige Nachteil: Ist der Rucksack weg ist alles weg. Aber wer nimmt schon zwei Taschen mit damit das nicht passiert? Niemand.Das Tragegefühl ist trotz des Gewichtes das der Rucksack stemmen muss sehr angenehm. Bisher habe ich den Rucksack nicht auf lange Strecken genutzt. Hauptsächlich nur wenige hundert Meter zum Auto oder zum Ziel. Im Gegensatz zur AmazonBasics Tasche für DSLRs besteht dieser Rucksack auch nicht aus dem Knarzenden, knisternden, knackenden Material. Er macht keine Geräusche.Sollte der Rucksack nur zwischen 1-5 Jahre halten hat er seinen Zweck für diesen Preis mehr als erfüllt, alles darüber hinaus wäre natürlich wünschenswert. Sollten im Nachhinein noch Dinge auffallen, werde ich diese Rezension aktualisieren.
